When a marauder destroys the underground sanctuary that Eva Nine was raised in by the robot Muthr, the twelve-year-year-old girl is forced to flee aboveground. Eva Nine is searching for anyone else like her, for she knows that other humans exist, because of an item she treasures—a scrap of cardboard on which is depicted a young girl, an adult, and a robot, with the strange word, “WondLa.” Tony DiTerlizzi honors traditional children’s literature in this totally original space age adventure: one that is as complex as an alien planet, but as simple as a child’s wish for a place to belong.

Breathtaking two-color illustrations throughout reveal another dimension of Tony DiTerlizzi’s vision, and, for those readers with a webcam, the book also features Augmented Reality in several places, revealing additional information about Eva Nine’s world.

I loved this book too! its about eva9 and her trip to the outside world and this dude chasing her i read the second book and waiting for the third!

My school received this book during the middle of the last school year, and I, luckily, snatched it first. It is a futuristic tale inspired by your favorite childhood fairy tales. Eva Nine goes on a quest to find others like her, fellow humans, after the sanctuary that she has lived in her whole life with her robot helper Muthr gets destroyed. She is convinced that others exist because one of her prized possessions which shows a young girl around Eva's age, a robot, and an adult as well as a world unknown to her, WondLa. I look forward to the promised sequel and hope that I will get 5-star enjoyment, just like this oone.

This story was inspired by the classic fairy tales such as Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. The author wrote it as a fairy tale of the future. I enjoyed the mystery in this story and all of the neat gadgets that Eva Nine uses in her world. I read the last sentence of the book, and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. The author is hoping for a release early in 2012.
