Our first class book explored the idea of how words can make others feel. Punchinello learns that when he has the puppet maker's support it is easier to believe in himself.

Ralph Fletcher is a great author. He tells great stories, and we are learning how our ordinary stories in life can be fun stories.

This story was inspired by the classic fairy tales such as Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. The author wrote it as a fairy tale of the future. I enjoyed the mystery in this story and all of the neat gadgets that Eva Nine uses in her world. I read the last sentence of the book, and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. The author is hoping for a release early in 2012.

Patricia Polacco's first book tells a story from her grandparent's hometown, Union City, Michigan. This was the first plot on our world map of the stories that we have read.

This story shares all of the places that are lived on this family farm in Wyoming. (I'm guessing it is Wyoming, since that is where the author was born.) We talked about all the places that we love, and wrote about them in our writer's notebook.
