Spottedleaf’s heart: Spottedkit has always dreamed of becoming a warrior, a wild cat who fights for her Clan and her family. She knows she will be a great asset to ThunderClan, though. When she reaches the age of six moons, her name is changed to Spottedpaw, and she begins the training that will help her be strong and brave enough to face ThunderClan’s enemies. So when Spottedpaw meets Thistleclaw, she knows he will help out with her apprenticeship—but he’s more ambitious than she thought. One day, he takes her to a strange, scary place called the Dark Forest...which is where cats who have been evil in their lives go. Spottedpaw meets many infamous enemies of ThunderClan...and the things they teach Thistleclaw are more vicious than any cat could have seen in a whole lifetime. Disgusted and angry, Spottedpaw vows to never interact with Thistleclaw again. After seeing his display of violence, she decides to become a medicine cat instead of a warrior, dedicated to healing the cats of ThunderClan...but learning the skills she needs comes with a price. Can she do it? Read this book to find out! Pinestar’s choice: Pinestar is the leader of his Clan...now faced with an agonizing decision. Should he stay with the cats he has known for all his life? Or leave them to become a house cat, away from everything he knows? The battles which have taken place recently between his Clan and the other cats near their territory borders have shaken him—badly. But how can he abandon everyone, especially at a time of trouble? His mate, Leopardfoot. His son and daughters, Tigerkit, Mistkit, and Nightkit—how can he leave them all? Soon, Pinestar realizes he can be dependent on others feeding him like a house cat, but return to his Clan at just the right time. Will it work? Maybe, maybe not. Read this book to find out! Thunderstar’s Echo: In the earliest days of the Clans, when the big groups of wild cats were nothing more than a band of former loners, a young leader named Thunderstar must face a terrible threat. He has the advantage of loyal friends who will follow him no matter what—but it may take more than their support to be a good, strong, and wise leader. And to make things harder, his friends have become his rivals! The other leaders, Riverstar, Windstar, Shadowstar, and Skystar, used to be his close friends, but now, he must think of them as enemies. Weighed down by all these problems, Thunderstar must do what it takes to be a good leader—not only for his Clan, but for the kin he has in other Clans, too. Is he up to the challenge? Read this book to find out!
