I'm in third grade, and I think it is a goodish book. I suggest first graders who like friendship, or my little pony.

The moment they saw each other, Bean and Ivy knew they wouldn't be friends. But when Bean plays a joke on her sister, Nancy, and has to hide quick Ivy comes to the rescue, proving that sometimes the best of friends are people never meant to like each other. Vibrant characters and lots of humor make this a charming and addictive introduction to Ivy and Bean.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the worst book ever. I'm in third grade, and I think it is a goodish book.
I'm no fool when it comes to books. But, this has to be one of the WORST books EVER!
It was pretty good. I am a middle schooler, but I still think it was pretty funny. I mean, I don't really have to spend a lot of time reading these books, but honestly they are really good books for second and third graders.
What drew me to this book was the cover (I know, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover). I can explain, the cover had two girls on the it, who looked like best friends (I'm a sucker for best friend-related books). I also recognized Sophie Blackall's wonderful, awesome illustrations. Anyway, back to the book review. I absolutely ADORED Ivy + Bean. I am more like Ivy, with Bean's dark hair. I loved how their friendship evolved in the beginning. I didn't expect Bean to be saved by Ivy since Ivy is so quiet. This reminds me of the Ramona series by Beverly Cleary. It's another book with mischief, *annoying* siblings, pranks, and adventure, which is a home run for children literature. Overall, I adored Ivy + Bean. I think that Annie Barrows will be the next Beverly Cleary.
Ivy and Bean is written by Annie Barrows and illustrated by Sophie Blackall. Both of them are seven years old and they live on Pancake Court. Bean plays a trick on her sister Nancy. Nancy doesn't fall for the trick so she gets Bean in trouble. Ivy shows her bedroom to Bean and they plan a dancing spell on Nancy with worms. I think Ivy and Bean do good when they work together.
The first book of the Ivy and Bean series is written by Annie Barrows and illustrated by Sophie Blackall. It has large print and pictures, but it is still a chapter book. The two girls are seven and their names are Ivy and Bean. They live on Pancake Court, which is their neighborhood. The first time Bean saw Ivy, she knew they could never be friends. Bean plays a trick on her sister Nancy, but before she could get in trouble, Bean runs away and Ivy comes to her rescue by taking Bean into her backyard. During that same day, Bean finds out that Ivy is nothing except a girl like herself. Ivy and Bean become friends and play with each other every day.

I don't like Ivy and Bean. I don't like the way the story is written. It is so boring. I love books that are funny but I don't find any humor in this book. Anyway, it is my personal opinion. Like my brother said, everyone has his or her own opinion.
I used to read Ivy and Bean books when I was little and I always used to enjoy them when I was younger because I could finish them in a day and I thought they were hilarious! I recommend these books to young kids.
