this is about 7th grade genius Howard Boward. He doesn't have any friends so he makes friends. Franklin, the new monster he created is great, but what will he do to keep his secret safe?

This book is mostly about a thirteen year old boy who is not so popular. Until he creates himself a friend/monster out of DNA, silly putty, and a little bit of orange fur. He then soon rises to be almost uber-popular with the help of his new friend/monster Franklin.
