Overall the book was pretty good. The main character, a princess who loves to make gardens, is invited to Hortensia's garden party, where the flowers never die and flourish brighter and better than normal. But not everything is as it seems.

Princess Adela is not a typical princess. She’s neither particularly beautiful nor particularly graceful, and she’d rather spend her days digging new plots for her garden than listening to teatime gossip. But when her friend Garth is invited to a garden party hosted by Lady Hortensia — whose beauty is said to be rivaled only by the loveliness of her gardens — Adela can’t resist coming along, even if it means stuffing herself into a too-tight dress and donning impractical shoes. But the moment Adela sets eyes on Hortensia’s garden, she knows something is amiss. Every single flower is in bloom — in the middle of October! Not only that, there is a talking magpie flitting about the garden and stealing the guests’ jewels. Is it possible that Hortensia is a witch and the magpie an enchanted prince? And what of the flowers themselves? Will Adela get to the root of the mystery and nip trouble in the bud before it’s too late?

Along with being a not so very pretty princess, Adela enjoys building extensions in her garden. And when Lady Hortensia's garden party comes forth Adela goes along to find...... the flowers are still blooming and it is the middle of October and there is a magpie, or is it a magpie? This story was fascinating. it brought me towards it with the descriptions and the characters.
This book is about a princess who loves to garden. When the Head Gardener's son gets invited to a garden party, she invites herself along too. But when she sees the Hostess do something terrible, and meets a talking Magpie, she can't help wondering if magic is involved.
The Garden Princess is a very beautiful book. The characters are so lifelike! I felt like I was really there! This book has such a great story line!
This book is pretty good, I enjoyed it more than I thought! It's about Princess Adela who it not beautiful or graceful, and she likes to spend her days digging new plots for her garden. But then her friend Garth is invited to a party hosted by Lady Hortensia, whose beauty is said to be rivaled only by the loveliness of her gardens, Adela can’t resist coming along, even she has to stuff herself into a too-tight dress and impractical shoes. But as soon as Adela sets eyes on her garden, she knows something is weird. Every single flower is in bloom, in October! But also there is a talking magpie flying around the garden and stealing the guests’ jewels. Then she thinks that Hortensia is a witch and the magpie is an enchanted prince. I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO LIKE ADVENTURE BOOKS, ESPECIALLY WITH PRINCESSES!
This book is really good! Princess Adela is not the kind of Princess most people want her to be, she would rather spend time in the soil than in her duties. When her closest friend Garth, she comes along and discovers a couple secrets considering their hostess, Lady Hortensia. Read this book to find out more!
This book has an interesting setting and good characters, but there is not enough background or story development to really give the reader an true experience. This book is good if you have a few spare moments here and there to fill.
Adela is an unusual princess. She would rather tend her garden than sip tea and learn manners. But when she hears about Hortensia, who's garden is rumored the most beautiful in the land, Adela manages to squeeze herself into a dress and go to the party. But when she gets there, something seems strange... A talking magpie, A witch, and flowers blooming October? Adela will find out! Ages 9+
This book really took me by suprise. It is a soft love story that takes place, in of course, a garden. Princess Adela is not the kind of Princess most people want her to be, she would rather spend time in the soil than in her duties. When her closest friend, the gardener, Garth, she comes along and discovers a couple secrets considering their hostess, Lady Hortensia. Let's just say, don't judge a flower by it's cover. After Adela manages to escape, she can't seem to stop thinking about the black bird, whom she restored to his human form. Equally odd, he feels the same way. THis novel is a good read that is a mystery, an adventure, and a soft love story.
Adela loves gardens. She would rather pluck out a thousand weeds than get an ettiquette lesson. Her stepmother, Cecille, wants her to become a lady: to go to fancy balls in hevay impractical clothes. When Adela is invited to a garden party at Hortetitia's she goes and discovers that she is an evil witch. You will love this book about true beauty.
