A stray dog finds an Afghan boy and helps him and his mom make it to the European border this helps them get away from the fighting and the darkness. Little did they now that they would not keep "asylum" for long. They get put in a detention center and have to stay there before they get deported. Will the protest save them? Will they have to go back to Afghanistan or will they stay?

This book was awesome. "Holes" is an awesome book with thrilling suspense and also some heart. This book is an awesome story of friendship and fun. I would recommend this book to most people.

This book was the best book ever. I could not stop reading it. My parents had to come into my room take the book and hide it just for me to eat dinner. I don't always like reading but now I want to read all of michael morpurgo books.

I really like this book written by Michael Morpurgo. His books are really good especially this book. I recommend this book to children ages 10 and above and for people that love dogs! :)

This book is very well written. The book starts off a little slow but gets faster and faster. The book is very thrilling and it will leave you thinking: "what will happen next?" The book is very good.

This book is good and if you like other "Middle School" books then I believe you will like this one. A young kid wins an art competition and gets to go to Australia. That book leaves you like what will happen next.
