steven delaney=disgusting so guys i made a current events for school tell me if its good In Brazil, it is raining spiders! It is not literally raining spiders though. In the city of Santo Antonio da Platina, Brazil, spiders are on telephone wires dangling. They look as if they are about to rain from the sky. The specie appears to be Anelosimus eximius. They are a social species that creates public webs. They live together in their older ages. Eric Reis was the first to witness this after leaving a friends house. The spiders looked as if they were floating because of the clear silk webs. All the spiders are believed to be in separate quarters in the same group web. Almost like a house or hotel except its on a wire and has clear walls with the ground multiple feet away. This illusion of ‘raining’ spiders is caused by the silk webs that aren’t seen. In the article it states that there is separate sections lure the prey in. this forms somewhat of a mesh causing they flies and other prey to get stuck. The order they build it in is finding a place so it is comfortable and has the qualities for a good home. Next, they build one big communal web. After, every spider makes a separate web to lure prey in. This is intelligent yet highly disgusting and terrifying. Imagine opening your window to dozens of spiders. Gross! My opinion on this is that it is very gross yet cool. Though, it sorta makes me feel like I have these spiders crawling on me because of the video and pictures. It is pretty scary to think that at any moment they could collapse and conme falling down on you and bite you. I would stay inside or move locations until they were gone. I think this is an amazing fascinating story. I wonder if anyone was injured or had a spider fall on them.
