He has to learn how to love and has a lot of chances to learn. During his life he goes through a lot of pain, trouble and heartbreak with many people. HIs life is like a roller coaster; it goes up and down. I recommend this book because it is very relatable and sad. Edward learns what it feels like to miss people. This book has a lot of emotion but is also funny and full of adventures.

This book is about August, also known as “Auggie,” who has a facial disability and has had 27 surgeries to try to fix his face. He likes to wear a space helmet to hide his appearance. He also wears a hearing aid. He has a sister named Via who thinks it’s her job to protect him. His best friend becomes Jack Will. He has a dog named Daisy who he loves. Summer is another friend of his who sits with him at lunch. The bully in the story is Julian. Mr. Tushman is the principal and he helps August make friends and settle. August has been homeschooled all of his life until 5th grade, when he starts Middle School at a public school. This book is recommended for readers aged 9+. Reading this book with a parent who can explain what August is going through would be a good idea.
