Ordinarily, the 13th of the month is just another day on the calendar. However, when it falls on a Friday, as it will tomorrow, the day takes on a whole new significance. That’s...

Cassiopeia is a beautiful queen (but very narcissistic) who was set up in the heavens by Poseidon (cough cough Percy Jackson's dad) to become a constellation after boasting too much. Even though Cassie is named after Cassiopeia, Cassie isn't quite vain... in fact, she is quite intellectual, and you'll learn to love her. I think that girl heroes are awesome... Like the Divergent series... well Tris can really kick butt... and that's the same thing with Cassie... Girls can fight like guys... or maybe even better (now I'm not insulting the guys... I'm just simply stating the truth... okay.. just kidding XD... guys and girls are all awesome)... Anyways... As a teenager (Cassie) thinks about what teenagers normally think about... "OMG, did you see that cute guy!!!" or maybe "I hope I do well on that pop quiz that Mr. Daniels gave me" (now all of these scenarios are stereotypes, so don't take them personally)... but it shows that teenagers don't think about their own death... or even when the world is going to be abducted by aliens... So once the plane came crashing down during school... you can see how everything played out... a hot mess... the first wave came, then the second wave, the third wave, and the fourth wave.. while all the survivors are anxiously waiting for the fifth wave... After these four waves... Cassie becomes tired of running away... her mom passed away from an illness while her father is murdered right in front of Cassie's eyes! After the soldiers, who they say they are, take all the children... including Nugget (Sam, Cassie's adorable younger brother)... Cassie and Evan decides to take their plan in their own hands... There comes a time with many sacrifices.. and this is the time... Cassie must battle through this horrendous generation and help rescue her brother by passing through all these complex technology... but can she trust Evan... Who is Evan??? Will Cassie ever find Sam??? Or will he be lost like the other children??? Well to answer these questions... you must read this amazing book to find out... So i really liked this book... it had me hooked to the beginning and end.... there is no part in the book that'll make you feel bored... because the author makes this book so realistic (I know the end of the world... but the author really pulls you in) that it's like your like Cassie's shadow, taking in part of this journey... And one tiny warning... do not pronounce Cassie like Cass- ee- oh- PEE- a... it drives her crazy... But if you want adventure and suspense leading you on every page... this book is perfect for you!

bibliophile's book review was featured in Behind the Canvas.
"...'Synergy, my dear girl. It occurs with paint and canvas but more so with people. Therein lies the wonder of friendship. Two small insignificant beings can suddenly master the world--or at least their own troubles--when they care enough for each other.'" Friendship is the key to overcome any darkness. Meet Claudia, a shy student, who's friends are paint and canvas. One day in a field trip, Claudia sees a boy with the "most awesome blue eyes" in an odd painting and starts introducing herself... however once Claudia had her opportunity to talk to another student, it looked like Claudia was hallucinating... making her seem crazy to her classmates... but in reality... Claudia saw what she saw... After actually meeting Pim (the boy with the nice blue eyes), Granny Custos (an original Artisti) invites Pim and Claudia... Pim tells Granny Custos his gruesome adventure about how Nee Gezicht cursed Pim after "spilling paint all over her dress," so in order to save Pim to be free from Nee Gezicht, Claudia must set out in an adventure... behind the canvas of each painting to steal the staff and to defeat the "Sightless one." Her weakness is that she is afraid of dying... and with the help of Granny's advice and "magic," they can help save the painted world and of course Pim... to actually eat food and be fill, and to actually sleep... After many betrayals that Claudia thought Pim said...they finally mend their friendship and with the help of the one and only Cash... they are set to defeat this horrible witch... Although many past judgements were stated about Pim, it shows that you should believe about what will happen and what is going on as the present and not focus on the past... After many traveling and actually meeting the witch... things become to pace a bit faster and weaves into this intricate web... I love how the author chose different and real paintings to describe each scenery... Also one bonus... there were footnotes on the bottom of the page which provided a lot of background history and information which gives a bit more "oomph" to the book... not only you get a taste of fantasy... you also get a taste of the history of each painting... Like who knew about the Rembrandt Van Rijn... and Rembrandt is a significant character in this book... I feel like I learned so much in one sitting... while going on this adventure with Claudia and Pim... What the author wrote is an amazing tale... once your inside a painting... everything that is in the painting becomes real... it's so amazing.. I can relate because I love art... and acrylic painting has been a specialty... and once you start painting... you're just hypnotized by the different shades and texture that you can do to paint in a canvas... I feel like it's basically about looking behind every story.. .because although things might look right... you still need to look behind the real picture... This heartwarming story will seriously bring a smile to your face... and you might even shed a few tears... (tears of joy/sadness)... I certainly did not see the ending about Pim and Claudia's future happening after the war... but overall this quick read is amazing... Aspiring artists, readers, and anybody who wants inspiration to not give up... this book is perfect for you... Enjoy!! :) Also... you might not see this coming... but nail polish remover is really helpful!!! :D

Thanks!!! It usually depends on the length of the book and how much I want to cover... it took about maybe 12 minutes... it's more like a guess because I didn't time it or anything XD... but next time I'll time it and I'll report it back to you! So are you a fan of Star Wars??? I'm guessing based on your username... Or... are stormtroopers your favorite characters???

bibliophile's book review was featured in The Terrible Two Get Worse.
After Miles and Niles getting together to finalize their perfect prank... it started... one by one... pranking the principal..... And after the last straw... they did it... they spelled out a message with flowers which led on to firing Principal Barkin by his older father... (the not so nice principal... he honestly is the terrible one XD) SO Bertrand Barkin has absolutely no weaknesses... you know "what kills you makes you stronger" is honestly so true... because every time the pranksters keep on pranking the school it always backfires and becomes stronger... After a couple more weeks later everybody turned into his minions.. no joke... seriously... no pranks or jokes were allowed... After this... Miles and Niles came up with this terrible (but so-brilliant plan) which included.... DUN DUN DUNN... the former Principal Barkin... honestly that caught me off guard... but the story perfectly weaved together... I absolutely loved this book... it was hilarious yet with that perfect touch of seriousness.. If you are an aspiring prankster... I urge you to read this book... in fact I'll tell you the Prankster Oath... which states, " On my honor I will do my best. To be good at being bad. To disrupt, but not destroy; To embarrass the dour and amuse the merry... For I am a prankster. So be it..." It's a pretty good oath... Shhh don't tel anyone but I recited it as well... So if you want a laugh read this amusing book... because it brought a smile to my face... and one more word of advice... a clothespin ALWAYS work way better than a gas mask... And prepare to laugh... And for those who did not read the first book.. I'll post my review for the first book.. to give a "little insight..." This book brought my level of happiness maxed out!!!! This book was hilarious all the way to the end, I don't remember a time not smiling... it was that funny...this book had cool facts about cows I did not know about like did you know that cows produce more milk with classical milk! Yeah, we don't really need to know about it, but it's a random fact that I considered to remember as I am currently typing...I really liked how the author weaved in comics, cows, and pranks in the story... WAIT the pranks are awesome... if you read this book, this is one reason why to be a prankster...Also the pictures were good sketches that helped make the story funnier and you could really notice the tiny details in this story by the cute sketches... So it starts with Miles Murphy who is very gloomy because he is moving and is on his way to Yawnee Valley... Miles had this huge rep in his old school being the grand master of pranking... but now since Miles is moving he needs to step up his game because there is a very good prankster at his school... Surprises, twists and turns... the prankster turns out to be...(Guess who??? Well read and find out) well they had a prank war, and finally compromised to make the best prank ever in history... and guess which day...(Well I hoped you guessed it right)and you guessed it right April Fools Day!!!! With twists and turns, a crazy principal, funky cows, smart friends, the "best" frenemy this book had exceeded it's title to be the one of the most funniest book ever :-)!! Will the huge prank work??? Will Miles and (Niles) able to work it out together??? Will they ever meet Cody Burr-Tyler (I'm joking with that, but still you would know if you read it... so READ it)??? Fans of Diary of the Wimpy Kid series, The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, and funny and adventurous books, this book, The Terrible Two, will be a perfect and hilarious read!!
