One day Polly, who lives in early 20th-century London, meets a boy called Digory, who's staying in his aunt and uncles' house. Soon, they become friends and explore Digory's house. Accidentally, they stumble into Digory's uncle's study, which they are forbidden from going into. There, they find out that Uncle Andrew is actually a MAGICIAN. And he's been experimenting with some magical rings that can transport people out of the world. When he forces them to wear the rings, the two children go into a magical place known as "The Wood Between the Worlds". They find out that by jumping into puddles, they can go into different worlds! In one puddle, they go into a place called Charn, where Digory awakens an evil queen called Queen Jadis, who wants to take over their worlds!😱So the two try to get her back into her world, but they end up in a strange place and see a LION! What will happen next? This book was pretty good, and it was funny! But it was sort of annoying when Digory said "Enough of this jaw." You should read this book if you like interesting books with talking animals.
