A young reader version of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling novel A Dog’s Way Home by W. Bruce Cameron, now a major motion picture!

Even though Bella has to hide from the neighbors and learn boring games like No Barks and Go Home, she loves her boy Lucas. Then one day Bella is picked up by Animal Control and Lucas is forced to send her to a foster home far away. Bella waits and waits for Lucas to come and get her, but days go by and he does not come. Finally Bella realizes what she needs to do―she needs to Go Home to Lucas―and even four hundred miles of dangerous Colorado wilderness won’t get in her way.

Bella's Story includes charming illustrations by Richard Cowdrey as well as a reading and activity guide at the end of the book.

Bella loves her life. She has Lucas, her owner, and all of the fun games to play. But when a terrible incident happens, Lucas does something that breaks his heart. He sends Bella away. But Bella doesn't really know what's happening. Lucas is gone, there are strange people all around, new smells, but...no Lucas. Slowly, Bella learns that she may never see Lucas again- unless she does something. Braving Colorado, Bella is destined to find her boy again. Full of love, heartbreak, and of course dogs! Happy reading!

Amazing book! It starts with Bella being a puppy hiding away from everyone, then she was found and taken care of. Since she was a pit bull she wasn't allowed to be a pet so animal control tried to take her. In order to keep her safe, she learned to go home. She had to leave Lucas, she eventually missed him and decided to run away to find him. My connection to the book was that my dogs have run away before and I have been super worried about them. I give this book 5 stars for an amazing plot with good twists and adventures.

This book was very good!! This book talks about how Bella was hiding from everyone since she wasn't supposed to be there she was and learned a lot like not to bark and how to go home by herself. Then one day the Animal Control took Bella and kept her for awhile Bella waited for Lucas to come but he never came. She decided to go and leave, run until she found. My connection to this book is that I would do whatever to save and animal and keep it until I am allowed to keep it where I live,I love dogs and every summer I foster them. I gave this book a 5 because, I love reading about dogs since I have one and the story was very interesting.
