Introducing an extraordinary new voice---a magical debut that will make your skin tingle, your eyes glisten . . .and your heart sing.

Midnight Gulch used to be a magical place, a town where people could sing up thunderstorms and dance up sunflowers. But that was long ago, before a curse drove the magic away. Twelve-year-old Felicity knows all about things like that; her nomadic mother is cursed with a wandering heart.

But when she arrives in Midnight Gulch, Felicity thinks her luck's about to change. A "word collector," Felicity sees words everywhere---shining above strangers, tucked into church eves, and tangled up her dog's floppy ears---but Midnight Gulch is the first place she's ever seen the word "home." And then there's Jonah, a mysterious, spiky-haired do-gooder who shimmers with words Felicity's never seen before, words that make Felicity's heart beat a little faster.

Felicity wants to stay in Midnight Gulch more than anything, but first, she'll need to figure out how to bring back the magic, breaking the spell that's been cast over the town . . . and her mother's broken heart.

I love this book! I would like to try some of that ice cream! I would do anything to be inside of this book!

This book is definitely a "Snicker of Magic." The main character Felicity Pickle, who has a very special talent, goes on a spindiddly adventure with her mother, who has a wandering heart, her sister, weird but wonderful, her dog biscuit, who is a great companion, and their trusty car, the Pickled Jalapeño. They drive off to a once magical town where Felicity finally feels at home, although her mother is already planning on leaving. With the help of her newfound friend Jonah, Felicity learns to face her fears and even breaks a curse on the way. My favorite quote from the book was, "I bet there's a snicker of magic on every street, in every old building, every broken heart, every word of a story. Maybe it's hidden away and you need to look harder for it. or maybe the magic is right there right in front of you, and all you have to do is believe." I really liked the quote because it says that magic is all around us and sometimes all we really have to do is believe in it.

Felicity, Frannie Jo and her mom move into her mom's old hometown, midnight gulch. Her mom has a rambling heart and that means she is unable to settle properly anywhere. Her mother sighs and says that there used to be some magic here, and her friend Jonah(the beetle) tells her that there still might be a snicker of magic there. However, in the magic there is a long tale about the famous Brothers Threadbare and their famous duel. The brothers threadbare liked playing the guitar and banjo, they held a contest and the loser would be banished. After the winner was so heartbroken that he left. Felicity sees words floating, and some might call that magic. Felicity reunites with her Uncle Boone Taylor and realizing that she has a path into making the magic come alive....and a bit of romance added into Aunt Cleo......

I LOVE this book this book is about Midnight Gulch a hidden away place with just a snicker of magic left. As soon as they drive into town Felicity Pickle can tell she wants to stay in Midnight Gulch, she loves it. But, her mother is cursed with a wandering heart, so she never stays long in one place. But Felicity decides she HAS to stay in Midnight Gulch, so with the help of her friend Jonah, The Beetle, and a snicker of magic, who knows maybe Momma's curse can be broken!

This book was great!!!!!! It was really in depth and had amazing deatails!

This book is my favorite book eeevveer. It's about a girl named Felicity Pickle (or Flea Pickle, whatever you prefer) who's lived here, there, and everywhere, which is better then saying nowhere at all. Felicity, all her life, collected words. She sees them everywhere. Sometimes over people's heads, sometimes clouding around bags. She believes that the words around people's heads are what that person is thinking or feeling. One day her little family (Her mom, her little sister Frannie Jo, and Biscuit her dog) arrives in Midnight Gulch, where she immediately feels like there's a hint of magic. On her first day of school, she meets a boy named Jonah, whose ride of choice is a wheelchair. The two of them venture out and try to break the mystery of the almost-magic town, the shrouded Stoneberry brothers, and Felicity's mom's wandering heart. All before that wandering heart wanders away.

Flea Pickle has practically lived in her family's car, the pickled jalapeño. Flea collects words, but when she says them to many people they turn into a mess. When Flea goes to a new school in Midnight Gulch she meets the needle who ends up changing her life.

i love this book!!!!!

This is a pretty good book. It sometimes gets a little boring and is hard too read, but other than that, it's a pretty good book.
