Though there are numerous Halloween dog parades across the country, very few are as famous as the one held at New York City's Tompkins Square Park. Now in its 24th year, the annual pageant that doubles up as a fundraiser is one of the most competitive dog events in the world, with owners going through incredible efforts and expense to don their best friends in the most unique Halloween costumes.

This year's event, which took place on Saturday, October 25th, was no exception. Hundreds of pooches dressed in their finest Halloween attire strutted in with their beaming owners to try grab the coveted "Best in Show' title. While the prizes, which included an iPad, two tickets to a Broadway show and numerous gift cards were certainly welcomed, it was the prestige of winning their pet the blue ribbon that the owners were really aiming for.

Among the contestants was Cerberus the mythical three-headed dog from the underworld and Spiderdog, a tarantula-canine with 12 spindly legs. B.B., a Maltese and CiCi, a shorkie (a cross between a Shih Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier) dressed as Frozen's Elsa and Anna.

Canine costume maker Anthony Rubio dressed his two Chihuahuas as Jon Snow and Red Viper from the popular television series Game of Thrones. There was also Superman, Indiana Jones, Lady Liberty and two amazingly cute puppies balancing a box between them! However, it was Baxter, Giupetto and Giana and their "crew members" Diana Lucci and Linn Consovoy, who sailed in aboard the Titanic, that won the judge's approval and the coveted "Best in Show" title!

Have a Happy And Safe Halloween!
