Video Of The Week - Tetris Comes Alive At MIT Campus

What is better than playing a video game on your Xbox 360? How about playing it on a 95-foot tall building? That's exactly what some fortunate students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology were able to do, on April 25th, 2012.

Using the 21-story 'Green' building's perfect 18 X 9 window grid, some brilliant engineering students were able to replicate the popular tile-matching puzzle video game, Tetris. For those of you too young to remember, Tetris was the 'Angry Birds' of the late 1980's and early 1990's and still ranks, as the second most popular video game ever!

Just like the video game, players used a console to control the colored blocks. When they lost, all the blocks would fall to the bottom of the building and the word TETRIS would appear horizontally across the building.

While the tricksters will not reveal their secret, experts speculate that it had something to do with placing multi-color LED lighting modules at each of the windows - And you thought engineers were boring!
