From wikipedia: The Castle in the Attic is a children's fantasy novel by Elizabeth Winthrop, first published in 1985. The novel has won the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award and the California Young Reader Medal. It has also been nominated for twenty-three state book awards. William is given a realistic model of a castle by the housekeeper, who tells him that it has been in her family for many years and that its silver knight is said to be under a spell. The silver knight, Sir Simon, comes to life and tells William stories about olden times. They enter the castle and find themselves in the Middle Ages. They go together on a quest against a dragon and an evil wizard. Jennifer Hadlock writing for Teacher Link said "This book can be used effectively to teach a unit on the Middle Ages. It is a great book for teaching about the architecture of the time period with its descriptions of castles and the surrounding territory. The issue of how an effective ruler should govern the country, as well as the rules which govern society, can be taught. The book also has an underlying theme of overcoming fears so this would also be good to address".

This book is exceptional and very descriptive. I think this book deserves 5 stars because it has some cliffhangers and is very interesting. I rate it 3rd to 6th because it has mild violence but is still age appropriate

I recommend this book because it full of FANTASY.

The book The castle and the attic is about a boy called William that received a castle model from his housekeeper and was told that it was his farewell gift. But then one day one of the figure in the castle came to life and took him on an adventure. Read as William explore through the castle and slowly discover the true purpose of the castle. I would strongly advice this book to anyone that like fantasy and fairy-tale, this story include a lot of surprise and mysterious waiting for you to discover.

I highly recommend this book to a grade level from 4th to 6. So this person named William got a realistic castle model from a housekeeper, he was told that it has been in her family for a lot of years and it got casted by a spell. However, one of the person in the castle comes to life and told William about the story. So, eventually, they went on a adventure and defeated dragons and wizards.
