This book is about Jacob, a 6 or 7 year old boy who arrives on the porch of a young couple. Jacob appears to be mute, communicating with tapping. He has an amazing gift for the arts. He picks up the drums and guitar right away. But Jacob was left with a note that said someone would come back to get him. Will Jacob's parents ever come?

The book "The Boy on the Porch" is a great source of emotional twists because of the boy who mysteriously appeared on a couple's porch. The boy uses many weird tap sounds to speak and loves to be around a dog and cow. The book is a great and short story that helps kids and people to create a mental image of a boy who loves to tap beats, but in order to know more, find out in the book later!

I agree. I LOVED this book. Sharon Creech is always a great read.
