Pearl Littlefield's first assignment in fifth grade is complicated: She has to write an essay about her summer. Where does she begin? Her dad lost his job, she had to go to a different camp―one where her older sister Lexie was a counselor-in-training (ugh!)―and she and her good friend James Brubaker III had a huge fight, which made them both wonder if the other kids were right that girls and boys can't be good friends and which landed one of them in the hospital.

And there's much, much more on the list of good and bad things, as Ann Martin takes this appealing character into new adventures through which young readers will see that good or bad, life is what happens when you're making other plans.

I have never read this but it seem like a good book😃😃😃😃

The book was funny and i have read the first one. (ten rules for living with my sister.) and it was good. This one was good to but at one point the plot got really slow and the story was boring but it jumped back in to being good! Im 13 and when i was ten there was no word called bosoms. What is a bosom? Dont make up new words. I have a friend who is ten and even she does not use the words bosoms. Pearl can act like she is 5 or 6 and not 10. She has a friend named Justine who she says acts annoying and loud but she acts the same way. She reminds me of Caillou. The book is good but Pearl needs to act more like she is 10 not Caillou.

Pearl has to write a report about what happened over summer vacation. What I thought of the book: Sometimes you could tell it was written by an adult. For instance, Pearl, who is 10, used the word "bosoms ". I'm not that much older than her, and I have never heard any one my age or younger use the word "bosoms". At first, I didn't even remember what that meant. But then again, Pearl could be pretty annoying because sometimes she sounded as though she was 6 or 7 years old.I wanted to like this book more than I did. Overall, it was ok.
