Tales from the Odyssey (part one) is a retell of Homer's Odyssey where you follow Odysseus and his adventures after some soldiers disrespected the temple of Athena during the battle in Troy. Odysseus' men have disrespected the gods and have now punished them. Now, Odysseus is battling his life just to get home to Ithaca alive. I connected with the book from my love of Greek tales and myths (or any kind tales and myths from and country, really. Greek myths just fascinate me the most ). The connection I made with this book is Odysseus' determination to survive and return home (and if I'm being honest, many kids in school just wants to survive class and go home, myself included (no I'm not failing classes, I'm just tired, that's all)). The reason this is a five star review is because I love Greek myths like this and the storytelling was great for me.

Sweet LOVE Greek myths, especially about THE ODYSSEY!

love the author magic tree house!i have part one and two my tried giving them away but i stopped her

I think that this book is very interesting. It was pretty cool when they had to choose between the two dragons and when they were at the island where there was the witch that turned the crew into pigs.
