Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Collins delivers equal parts suspense and philosophy, adventure and romance, in this searing novel set in a future with unsettling parallels to our present.

this book is Bone chilling. And some times scary. I love this book it has action. By rhiannon

Since The Hunger Games is told in first-person, I think that adds the amazingness to it :D I would TOTALLY recommend this book to the whole entire world, and the world will join the fandom xD I loved this book, and still do! It's very detailed, although it leaves room to imagine and write fanfiction. Many of the characters die, and it adds to the drama, but I loved it all the same :3 Make sure you read this or the odds will never be in your favour >:D

I loved the hunger games. It is a vary detailed book, you get to know the people. It's not extremely gory but it has plenty of things that will make you cringe or cry. Wonderful plot with lots of twists. So I would suggest you read it! "Happy Hunger Games to you, and may the odds be ever in your faver!"

I would really recomend this book because it has suspense, but it also has a romantic side to it. In this book, things arent always what they seem, which is cool. From this book, you get all sorts of feelings and emotions and you feel really sad, happy, or relieved. Thats why I would totally recomend this book.

I love this book! It has romance, suspense, drama, action AND Isabelle Fuhrman! This book is perfect! I would rate this book 1,000,000,000,000 stars if I could! The saddest parts for me were when Rue and Clove died, they were the 2 youngest in the arena AFTER the Bloodbath along with Foxface. I personally LOVE Clove, mini obsession... this book has the power to captivate fans of all ages, I love this series!
