Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Collins delivers equal parts suspense and philosophy, adventure and romance, in this searing novel set in a future with unsettling parallels to our present.

After having read Gregor the Overlander 1-4, and not finding the 5th book, I searched for other books by the same author. I was very surprised that the same author wrote "The Hunger Games." I have heard of that book many times but never actually read it. Now i did.

most the time the books are better than the movies. I am reading this book I am almost to chapter two

This book is so realistic it could happen in real life and after I read the books I watched the movies but I like the book better. Best book😜😜

I truly amazingly written book with powerful emotion. Every chapter is an exciting new scene and every chapter has a cliff-hanger at the end. Katniss is a fierce and determined young girl, yet shy and unprepared for what awaits. Along with Prim, Katniss' mother, Gale, Peeta, Effie, Haymitch and other characters, I couldn't see any other way without these characters. If you want to read a book trilogy with action, dystopia, thrills, and emotional parts, THIS BOOK AND BOOK TRILOGY IS FOR YOU. Have fun! :D

Hunger games I wanna win I win it all. I wanna win all day. Im not teaming I'm not teaming you should of learnt how to play. Have you guys heard of that song.

Beta Beta

AMAZING!!! Love it!! I've read all three books and I wish it would never end. By far my favorite!!! I think Katniss should be with Gale! If you have read Divergent, you will love this better. Divergent if more violent. This isn't bad. Not much gore, actually, but yeah, LOVE this book! Can't get over it!!! BEST BOOM EVER!!! Katniss is AMAZING! <3

read this book cause its awesome!

My favorite quotes in the book is may the odds be ever in your favor. I THIN Kattness and Peeta love each other because they look cute together. This book should be for 11 and up because theres to much gore and to many people die in the hunger games so if you ever read this you will like it

I read all of these books when I was 10, but I agree that there is TONS of gore in these books, so good idea to let people know about this!
