Katniss Everdeen lives in District 12 with her mother and little sister. Her father was killed by a mine explosion. Often, Katniss goes beyond the District boundaries with Gale(her friend) to hunt for game to trade for other goods. Then, the day for choosing Hunger Games tributes comes. Katniss's sister is chosen and she volunteers in her place. Next, Peeta Mellark is chosen. The rest is for you to read. It's a really good book that won't be able to put down!
This is one of my favorite books of all time! I love the fantasy setting of the future gone wrong, and it was an exciting book. Personally, I thought parts were very sad, and I love the rest of the series and the movie.
