Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Collins delivers equal parts suspense and philosophy, adventure and romance, in this searing novel set in a future with unsettling parallels to our present.

I love this book!! and im am in 4th grade so now I just finished the second book that's a good book to!!! now I will read the third book!!!!

This is not a book for everyone. I recommend you wait until at lest 6th grade. Ask your parents before you read it. It has some fighting, a bad word or two, and blood. Make sure you ask your parents first. The Hunger Games is a great book, but it's not for everyone!

I'm not going to spoil this book. I think it's amazing, and it's in my top ten list. If you like action and adventure. read this book. It also keeps you on the edge of your seat right from the beginning. Although it may be action and adventure it's also filled with romance. I highly recommend this book.

This book is one of the greatest books i have ever read. There's not one minute where you're not on the edge of your seat. It's action packed and romantic at the same time. If you have read this book watch the movie even better.

This is my absolute favorite book. It takes place in the future, where North America has been divided into a Capitol and 12 districts. This is called Panem. there used to be 13 districts but the 13th was demolished in the war that lead to the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a competition held in remembrance of how District 13 rebelled against the Capitol and fought it. each district must put forth two tributes a male and female, all of whom will fight to death in an arena. This is in a girl tributes POV, Katniss Everdeen's and goes through her journey of participating and winning the Hunger Games.

Well i haven't finished it yet but so far it is great....Hope it ends good!!!!!

These books are amazing and I would recommend these books to any one. There is something for everyone: a love interest, adventure, and a small element of scariness. These books are all just great to think about, long after you finish reading them. Suzanne Collins did a fantastic job of writing the books.

Amazing book. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but it is a must read. If you like this book you might also enjoy the other books in the trilogy or another book called Matched which is in another trilogy.
