Feeling as if she is too "self-centered" and "self-involved", Mary Anne sets out to be as selfless and helpful as she can be. An opportunity comes when her elderly neighbor, Mrs. Towne, falls and breaks her ankle. In exchange for sewing lessons, Mary Anne helps keep Mrs. Towne's house clean while Mrs. Towne recovers. But after a while, Mary Anne realizes that she doesn't have time or energy to do anything she wants to do, like hang out the BSC girls or Logan. Mary Anne feels as though she is always spending her time at Mrs. Towne's house, cleaning. Could it be that Mary Anne is being taken advantage of? This book reminded me of my grandmother. Her and I love to sew, so this book was close to home for me. I thought this book was so sweet and a little sad. It made me thankful for family and caring people. I also think after reading this book, everyone can appreciate Mary Anne's attitude. She is kind, selfless, patient, and compassionate. I thought this book was wonderful and would suggest if you like babysitting, taking care of others, and friendship. Happy reading!

This is a book in the baby sitters club series written by Ann M. Martin. I really liked this book, it was really insightful and different from the rest of the series. This book is about Mary Anne, and how after helping an old lady in her neighborhood who sprained her ankle in exchange for sewing lessons, Mary Anne starts to feel as if she is being taken advantage of. Will shy Mary Anne be able Ms. Towne? Read the book to find out! I totally recommend this book!Happy Reading!
