Claudia's grandmother, Mimi, is the only person in her family that understands her. She helps Claudia study for tests and is very kind to her. But one day, Mimi suffers a stroke and is in the hospital for a few days. One early morning, Claudia wakes up to worried voices. She soon finds out that Mimi died, and she is sad, but angry at Mimi for leaving her. She feels better only when she spills the beans to her sister, Janine. This is one of the more sad books in the series, but it is a good one.

Claudia's grandmother Mimi was the only one in Claudia's family that truly understood her. Mimi didn't mind when Claudia left her school bag in the foyer. Mimi was compassionate when Claudia came home with a C+ on an Arithmetic test. Mimi was perfect. Mimi was one of Claudia's best friends. So, when Mimi passes away after a recent stroke, the whole Kishi family is devastated but Claudia takes it the worst. How could someone that Claudia loves so much just leave? I thought this book was sad but very exceptional. Claudia goes through the typical cycle of grief: sadness, anger, then guilt. This book allows the reader to walk with Claudia during this challenging time. Ann M. Martin (the author) did a wonderful job of really getting you into the story. She makes you feel the emotion that Claudia feels. In previous books with Mimi in it, Ann M. Martin makes the reader feel as if Mimi was their grandmother. At first, I was skeptical of reading a sad book but in the end, I was glad I read it. I think every reader could benefit from reading this book. Overall, I thought this book was sad but extremely heartfelt and powerful. I suggest if you like family relationships, friendship, and babysitting.

it was actually a sad book, but i loved it! i've read most of the baby sitters club though

Claudia never thought she would have to say goodbye...Claudia knew that her grandma Mimi has been acting strange after her stroke but it would have never prepared her for the terrible news...Mimi had past away in the hospital. Claudia doesn't know how her family is going to manage without beloved Mimi.

I really really really like this book series I hope more books of the baby sitters books come out iOMG this book is Amazing

I want to read this book. I think its the one where Mimi dies. I just hope that its not too sad, i don't want to cry. Besides that i want to know what happens.

If you don't want to cry, I don't suggest this one or Kristy and the Snob. I cried when I read both. 😭
