Supergifted this book truly is exactly that! Meet Noah a genius who has an IQ of 206, meet Donovan a nobody, but when Donovan saves head cheerleader Megan's house and family from a runaway propane truck, he can't tell anybody because it would put his dog in danger. So Noah decides he'll help Donovan out and claim to be the Superkid who saved the truck so no one will suspect Donovan. Soon a nosy reporter tries to figure out was it Noah? Or was it someone else? I haven't read the book Ungifted but this book did a good job of explaining what had happened! I really enjoyed this book!
This book made me think a lot about the pressure to do well in school. My mom always says she'd rather I was a good person than a super smart one. I think I'm both, though. Still, I could see why Noah was so stressed out. Trying to be perfect all of the time isn't good.
The book Super Gifted has different people’s perspectives of the story. Three most important characters are Noah, Meghan and Donovan. Donovan saves Meghan’s house by putting a truck in neutral mode. But, he doesn’t want anyone to know it was him. However, the story gets out that Meghan’s house was saved, but no one knows that Donovan saved it. Noah tells everyone that he saved the house (because he thought that he was helping Donovan). Noah gets a whole fan club, a sandwich named after him and everyone calls him Superkid! Meghan gets suspicious and finds out in the end that Donovan was the one who saved her house. My favorite part is when Donovan reveals that he was the Superkid because Noah said he lied (about being Superkid) to protect Donovan. My favorite character is Meghan Mercury. She is the head cheerleader for the school’s lacrosse team, the Hornets. Even though she can be a little mean, she gave Donovan a hug for saving her house. To find that out, she went to his older sister’s house. I think she got a little jealous because she used to be as popular as the fake superkid. I recommend this book to anyone who likes robotics and cheerleading.
This is maybe the best book I’ve ever read created by Gordon Korman, which is totally saying something! Supergifted is the sequel to the New York Times bestselling book, Ungifted. Surprisingly, this book exceeded my expectations. Normally, sequels are worse than the first book, but definetley NOT counting this series! Donovan Curtis isn’t gifted. Not even a tiny bit. But when a misconception happens, Donovan enters the gifted school - for the smartest “nerds” in the whole county! But of course, he did not, and I mean NOT.... belong there. At all. When someone helps Donovan pass a text by hacking into the school computers, Noah, Donovan’s friend, said it was him to be kicked out of the special school (he didn’t like being smart). This is a MUST READ!
I got this as a prize from this program and i thought i would not like it but it is so amazing Noah and Donovan best friends and when one of them becomes superkid the whole town goes cray but who is actually superkid and who really has that title and what friends can o for each other Is remarkable.
Even though there were some negative reviews about the sequel to Ungifted, I really liked this book. In it, Donovan saves a cheerleaders house from getting blown up in a neighborhood he was not permitted to be in, and everybody wants to know who the "Superkid" is.
This sequel to Ungifted was disappointing. It was kind of confusing, and the humor was warped. I wanted to continue the story of Ungifted, not change main characters. This is a complete opinion, but I think this book was confusing and not funny.
Overall this was not a good book. I don't think that it was worded very well. It was a little confusing for me because I haven't read the first book, which is Ungifted. If anyone is looking for a good book to read this is not the one. There are many other good books for that. I would not recommend this book.
Ungifted is one of my favorite books by Gordon Korman. I was thrilled that there was a sequel.While Supergifted is not quite as good as its predecessor, it still is worth reading.
