Greg's grandfather moved into the Heffley home because he could no longer pay the rent at Leisure Towers. However, grandpa bothers Greg to the point where he made the car end up in a ditch. Greg then decided to participate on the school trip to Hardscrabble Farms because he doesn't want to confront his dad on what happened to the car. However, Greg soon realized he made a bad decision because of the horrible food, unsanitary showers (from sweat) and the rumored farmer named Silas Scratch. By the end of the book, we find out that Silas Scratch is someone Greg's dad invented just so he could have to shack with the clean showers all to himself. Greg decides to go along with it and holds up a sign saying "Beware of Silas Scratch" on his way home.
My favorite part is when Greg teen from military camp and i think a seven year old stole girls scout cookies and the girl hunted then down and found then and they were afraid of the girl scouts
I think it is going to be terrific since I am a big diary of a wimpy kid fan
cool book
Jeff Kinney did an excellent job on his 10th Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. In this story Gregg struggle with several things such as: Rodrick's new job, grandpa moving in, and the summer field trip to Hardscrabble farms. Gregg doesn't want to go on the field trip. BUT he broke his sink and then wreck the family van and even though his dad is away on a business trip, Gregg is afraid of the consequences when his father returns. SO Gregg decides to go on the camping trip to Hardscrabble Farms. When he gets there things become worse, because there is no deodorant, a smelly cabin, and a creepy zombie farmer, Silas Scratch, who stalks the area. Anyway, this wasn't my type of book. BUT it was super funny and the illustrations played along with the story well. -Demosthenes
