You can’t stop the future.

You can’t rewind the past.
The only way to learn the secret . . . is to press play.

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker—his classmate and crush—who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah's voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why.

Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah's pain, and as he follows Hannah’s recorded words throughout his town, what he discovers changes his life forever.

i love this book . totally tells an amazing story. i love the way it written to.

i read the book and i loved it i 100% recommend this book

This book is SUPER GREAT, and I'm just at the 6th chapter. IT IS REALLY AWESOME.... :) READ IT! Also it is a movie, so if you read it .... try watching the movie afterwords!

i guarantee you...you will cry in this book, so sad

It is a good book. This book shows the struggle of a girl who didn't have to take the other road of getting out. Someone who could have lived happily with friends and family. But had to go through something teenage girl shouldn't. I know someone close to me who has committed suicide and this book describes it. RIP All loved one who have committed suicide and for their friend and family I hope you stay strong.

This book was beautifully written, yet a bit eerie and depressing. It was so good that I've read it several times! I found this so touching and I even almost shed a tear. I heard about Universal Studios purchasing the film rights for this being made into a movie. Even though I don't think it'll come out anytime soon, I hope the film does it justice and is just as good as The Perks of Being A Wallflower (novel-to-book thing). If Logan Lerman isn't cast as Clay Jensen, then I will cry. But he'd legitimately be perfect for the part! In the film version I'd like for it to end with a more positive ending, and I want to see more of the Clannah (Clay-Hannah) interaction and more clearly depicted.

I enjoyed this book so much that i could hardly put it down. This book is about Hannah Baker and her 13 reasons on why she commited her sucide. She recorded each one on tapes for all her vicims to listen. Jay Asher had many good ideas in this book. The book was very well structed and the book flows very well. I would recommend this book to preteens however mostly to young adults because some of the material many not be suited for preteens and youngers. I really loved this book and hope you do too! :)

If you are looking for a happy, sunshine-y, romantic slow-dance-flower-petals-fall-from-the-sky-hand-holding-the-sun-smiles-upon-us type of book, then please, do not read it. But, if you would be ok with reading a rather depressing teen suicide book, where the recently deceased left a set of tapes for 'her reasons why' to listen to, read it.

I really love this book, it really makes you wonder about all the "what if's" in the world. Its about a girl who lives her life in regret, and commits sucide, leaving a video casette of the 13 reasons why she did it.

This is great book for people who like horror/realistic fiction books. It is about a girl named Hannah Baker who committed suicide 2 weeks earlier and no one knows why , since she was very popular. But before she died, she recorded 13 tapes each about a different person and what they did to lead up to this. Clay Jensen is in possession of these tapes and listens to them to try figure out where he fits in. It's a sad book with lots of suspense, leading up reason by reason.
