Not being able to dream must be awful. you can't experience the thrill of imagination, that is Sophie's problem- she can't dream. no matter how hard she tried she just couldn't. her parents own a dream shop they make cures for people just like Sophie, they also make it for people that have uncontrollable nightmares like Jake Sophie's soon to be friend. I recommend this book for those who have a wild imagination.
This book makes me appreciate my dreams more. it shows that imagination is exciting it's full of adventure and excitement...but Sophie can't dream. she never has been able to...the closet she has ever gotten to dreaming her own dream was drinking one. her parents own a dream shop, they sell dreams to those who can't dream. Sophie is one of those people, but, her parents wouldn't let her drink dreams. they told her there are people out there who want to use dreams for bad intentions. that's when she meets the sinister Mr. Nightmare...that's when everything changes. recommended to readers out there who love a mystery with a sprinkle of creepiness.

"Everyone dreams, you just don't remember them." It's a fact. But that isn't the case for soon-to-be-twelve Sophie, a non-dreamer who lives in a shop where dreams are bought and sold. All Sophie ever wanted was to have a dream of her own. She's tried every method possible: eating weird foods before bedtime(bananas with ketchup), watching scary movies before bedtime, or just scaring herself in the hopes of having a nightmare. The closest she ever got to having a dream was drinking someone else's dream when she was six years old. There she met her best friend, Monster... and brought him to life. The adventure begins on her 12th birthday, when Sophie meet the main antagonist, Mr. Nightmare and saves the über popular Ethan from a Giraffe man. What adventures await Sophie? I would recommend this book to 3rd and 4th graders. Overall, I think this book was deliciously creative book perfect to gobble up! It made me thankful for my dreams... in fact, I can't wait to fall asleep. zzzzzzz

This was a great book! I saw the cover and thought it would be one of those cliché books but I totally judged wrong. I'll give you a review right away. three stars so far.
"Dreams can't die... but they can be lost... And then found again..." This heartwarming tale gives the reader an acknowledgement of celestial and magical creature found in DREAMS. (**IT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**) It starts off with Sophie (Betty), a non-dreamer, and a soon to be hero, soon befriends Ethan (the new kid who is "swarmed" with many friends due to his ability of playing sports) after realizing that he has nightmare, Sophie reachers out and gave him a dreamcatcher that can assuage his nightmares... BUT a horrible occurrence happened!!!!!! A gray-giraffe tried to kidnap Ethan, however Sophie and Monster saved him... Sadly they could not retrieve Lucy and Madison, who also have horrid nightmares, where Mr. Nightmare kidnapped them... Before I go any further I wanted to say Monster is a protector/pet who belongs to Sophie after she made Monster from her dream (MONSTER CAN TALK)... And yes, Sophie can have her dreams be real in actual life... Anyways Mr. Nightmare, aka Eugene, is a buyer from Sophie's parent's dream store... So now with Ethan and Monster's help, Sophie is now in a quest to look for her parents (where there number one suspect is Mr. Nightmare), but as they approached to his house... Mr. Nightmare seemed like a complete, ordinary human being. But... WRONG... he in fact stole all the monster dreams and kidnapped Sophie's parents, Lucy, and Madison... With all this imagination, Sophie soon becomes surrounded with a pegasus who poops rainbows (and loves apples) and with tons of ninja bunnies to help save the people who Sophie loves... Not to mention where they meet hideous looking monsters, where they meet Christina... Now secrets unravel like a spider's web... And now to save the people she loves may cost a sacrifice... DUN DUN DUNNNNNN... So what I loved about this book was the cliffhangers of course... Also when Ethan first meets Sophie... is just so... AHHH.... I cannot describe in words... Just YOU have to read this... Also the dry humor and irony really got to me... It's just hilarious... "Her first thought was, I'm not Betty..."... And MONSTER... he's adorable... Like I wished I had a friendly monster named Monster... Everything about this book is so creative and imaginative! To be honest... I thought it would be this cliche book... Where the hero saves the day... and it's kind of like that.... But just all the twists and turns reminds me of a roller coaster with it's unexpectedness...*cough Ms. Lee* *cough-cough* So if you can take a toll with nightmares because everything you might've dreamed of will be in this book... then this book is perfect for you! I realized this book is so similar with the movie Big Hero 6... Like seriously I can name the comparisons but I would be giving out too many spoilers... So if you like sweet, sentimental, but an adventurous story... This book is for you... Read it:D!!!!
True, I also like how Sophie has one of those cliché schools where there's a jock group, a popular group, and a nerd/outcast group... even though that happens all the time in real life.

This was a wonderfully written book. Sophie's parents are dream sellers, meaning they sell dreams. She loves to spend time in their shop, but must keep all of the information safe and secret, because there are some people who aren't too keen on dreams. Sophie has the special ability to bring her dreams to life, so she brings a monster named Monster out of her dream. They bond, but then Sophie must face the challenge of saving her parents from a mysterious Mr. Nightmare, and save the secret her family has kept for so long. Will she be able to do it?
