Cameron Boxer is very happy to spend his life avoiding homework, hanging out with his friends, and gaming for hours in his basement. It's not too hard for him to get away with it . . . until he gets so caught up in one game that he almost lets his house burn down around him.
Oops.
It's time for some serious damage control--so Cameron and his friends invent a fake school club that will make it seem like they're doing good deeds instead of slacking off. The problem? Some kids think the club is real--and Cameron is stuck being president.
Soon Cameron is part of a mission to save a beaver named Elvis from certain extinction. Along the way, he makes some new friends--and some powerful new enemies. The guy who never cared about anything is now at the center of everything . . . and it's going to take all his slacker skills to win this round.

The book “Slacker” is about a beaver named Cameron Boxer who is the ultimate slacker. He doesn’t play any instruments and never does his homework. All he does is game and game and game. Until one day his mom told him to take something out of the oven but he just ignored her to play his games. The house catches on fire but he doesn’t know. His parents get so mad they tell him if he doesn’t get into something else he won’t be able to play his video games. So Cam makes a fake club called P.A.G. (Positive Action Group) that he thought no one would care about. But people love the idea even the school counselor. Cam becomes the president of the club that he thought he wouldn’t have to do anything in. His life begins to change all thanks to a club he never even wanted to start. What happens at the end you’ll have to find out for yourself. I think it was a great book and love the layout and plot of the story. Great read for ages 9+.

Slacker is a super funny book. In the beginning of the book there was a fire in cames house and he has to make friends. He made a grope called the P.A.G. People are going crazy for him at school now and does not know what to do.What do you think will happen.

SO BORING!

Cameron Boxer is a very devoted video gamer. He doesn't play an instrument, doesn't belong in any clubs, he just games. When Cam is playing video games one day, his mom tells him to take the ziti out of the oven in ten minutes and turn the oven off. Cam ignores her completely, and doesn't notice his house is on fire. The house and his family end up fine, but his parents insist he gets involved in something, or he can't play video games. In response, Cam creates a fake club devoted to doing good deeds around town. Much to Cam's surprise, some kids think this club is real, and his school counselor does too. Cam is now the president of a club he never wanted to exist. From building a beaver habitat to saving someone's life, Cam's life starts to be changed by a club he never thought would happen. Slacker was told by different characters in the story, and I really liked it that way. This book has a great plot, and I could not put it down. I recommend this book to boys and girls ages 9+.
