This book was AMAZING!!!!!! It was really interesting too, and I LOVED the part when Annmarie was sent of to the woods and met the solders...
cool
I have never read is it good?
It is a very good book. I really think that you would enjoy it since you like a lot of books that deal with children who have to make brave decisions.
I loved this book so much.It explained the history of the Nazi's and Jew's in the past.It was mostly sad and depressing at some points, but I managed to survive the whole book.I got most of my friends to read this book and they enjoyed it as well. All in all it was an amazingly written book that explained Nazi and Jewish history so well.
People back then should of stood up for the jews instead of letting them die or being sent to camps ever why that was wrong
books about the holocaust interest me, its sometimes hard to believe that it happened, but lois lowrey who wrote the giver, never disappoints me. it is a good book to use when you research the holocaust.
Very good young person's novel describing the horrors of the holocaust (not in great detail) and the Nazi's attempt to obliterate an entire race of people. This story humanizes the experience but also does not linger on the horrorific. This is a wonderful piece of historical fiction perfect for students who have a slight understanding of Hitler's plan and its place in history but perhaps have questions that this somewhat delicately addresses.
Annemarie, the main character, is very brave I think. She inspired me to be gentle and loving to people who are different such as Ellen(Who was a Jew during the Holocaust).
Great Book! Read it twice, I not only like the topic but also the book itself. This book shows how life was In World War II! READ IT!
