A classic Roald Dahl side-splitter, Matilda tells the story of a genius girl with an idiot family. Matilda's parents are so ignorant that they forget to enroll her in school! Luckily, Matilda's been reading Dickens since age 4. She's well caught up by the time she enters first grade. Filled with hilarious tricks, magical powers, and Dahl's "kids v. grownups" plot, Matilda will have you laughing the whole way through. Matilda plays hilarious practical jokes on her parents like putting super glue in her dad's hat, and never gets caught. Because a little girl wouldn't do such a thing, would she?

Francisca Lizondo (10 years) By: Roald Dahl Review Matilda Matilda was a sensitive and brilliant little girl with horrible parents. She went to the public library every afternoon to read; she went all alone because her parents did not like reading. When she entered school she was VERY ahead of class because of her intelligence. She had a crazy headmaster, named Miss Trunchbull. After a few months Matilda discovered she had magic powers! Will her powers last? How will she survive with such a mean headmaster? Read this book to find out!!! I loved this book because it has lots of funny characters, it has adorable pictures! My favourite part is when Matilda tricked Miss Trunchbull. Roald Dahl is an awesome writer that loves to play with words. I have been reading lots of his books lately and I really enjoyed this one! His characters are always normal and weird in some way... I recommend this book to anyone that likes adventure and suspense. I think it is for kids of almost ANY age. I hope you like it as much as I did!!!

Matilda is a little girl that read and wrote a lot. She didn't go to school and she insisted and insisted to her parents that she wanted o go school. She had insisted since she was 4 years old and now she had 6! The first day that she wants to school, she had the best teacher. She was called Mrs Honey. When she started school she was very ahead of the class, so the teacher Mrs Honey, went to talk to the Headmistress called Trunchbull. She was very mean with the students. Do you know what happened with Matilda? Did she stay in the school? My favorite part was when we discovered that Matilda had powers in her eyes and she moves a lot of things and she saved a friend that was in her class. What i like about the author style is that he uses a lot of fantasy and he has fantastic pictures. I recommend this book to people that are between 7 and 14 years old and like fantasy stories. this book is full of magic.
Written by: Roald Dahl Illustrated by: Quentin Blake Reviewed by: Valentina Ch (age: 9) Matilda is a five year old girl that has two bad, evil, nasty, ugly parents. She learns to read and write on her own. She also starts going to school with the other five year old children but she is very ahead. During all the days at school, she discovers that she has a special power. What is it? Will her parents stop treating her the way they do? Will some things change for her? Read this book to discover the answers to all these questions. My favourite scene was when Miss Trunchbull, the headmistress, makes Bruce eat a whole chocolate cake because she thinks he will never finish it. You will have to read it to see if he can finish it or not. I like this book because some parts are very funny, like this one: “The Trunchbull let out a yell and leapt off her chair as though a firecracker had gone underneath her. And now the the children also saw the long thin slimy yellow-bellied lizard-like creature twisting and turning in the glass, and they squirmed and jumped about as well, shouting...” I also recommend Roald Dahl's books because he entertains the reader by exaggerating everything. Surprise is essential in his books. All the characters are amazing and the way Quentin Blake illustrates them matches perfectly. I loved Roald Dahl´s idea of giving Matilda powers because it makes the story very interesting. Since it has some difficult words so I recommend this book to 9, 10 and 11 year old children. READ IT!!!

READ AND FIND OUT¡¡¡ I liked this book because: I am similar to Matilda. Ilike to study read and learn. I also like humour. This story is about a little genius called Matilda, and her wish was to have a real friend but she discovered that she could be her own friend, while her family tricked others by selling cars in a very bad conditions by a very high price, she spent most of her time reading grown up books in the public library. She discovered that she had special powers because she could control things by only thinking about them, but she only used her special powers for the good. Would her wish come true?, What is going to happen with her family? I honestly enjoyed this book because it is very interesting. It´s funny because I like the way Roald Dahl invents words, it has lots of drawings and it describes very well all the scenes and the characters. Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop, this book is terrific! I highly recommend this fantastic book to everyone that likes mystery and fantasy. Once you start, you will realize that it´s a book that takes you to a magic world of fantasy that you will always record in your mind!
