In this mischievous and utterly original debut, Hansel and Gretel walk out of their own story and into eight other classic Grimm-inspired tales. As readers follow the siblings through a forest brimming with menacing foes, they learn the true story behind (and beyond) the bread crumbs, edible houses, and outwitted witches.

Fairy tales have never been more irreverent or subversive as Hansel and Gretel learn to take charge of their destinies and become the clever architects of their own happily ever after.

Wasn't scary, WAS gory, was also very amusing.

You have to read this book, everyone.

Oh my gosh!!!!!! I love these bonds and read the last one about 3 weeks of it. His commentary in between the parts of the book is hilarious. I love it, I love it, I love it.

i loved this book! and i recommend it to 5th graders!

It changes the original way of thinking of the first Grimm books.

This is the best book ever. There is so much blood😁😅 It is pretty dark and grimm

Once upon a time, my mom got me this book. I happen to L-O-V-E fairy tales and practically dove into it. I LOVED IT! It is a perfect mix between scary and UTTERLY AWESOME! If you like Fablehaven or if you are a fairy-tale lover like me, you NEED to read this. Seriously, I'm not kidding. Read this.

This is a very good book (if you like scary books). You will find yourself on the edge of your seat. The book is an "exciting" version of Hansel and Gretel. In the middle Gretel cuts off her finger. But in the end everyone ends up fine...almost. To find out the end you have to read it first.
