I loved the book. In it, Cecile is at home hoping time will pass quicker so that her brother Armand will come home from France quicker. Then, she meets Marie-Grace, an American girl [Cecile and her family were free people of color]. The two share an unforgettable adventure. I couldn't put this book down while I was reading it.
Cecile Rey, a black girl, became friends with the new white girl, Marie-Grace Gardener. In 1853, blacks and whites weren't supposed to be together. As the Mardi Gras season came by, they were both invited to the same ball. They have a daring adventure planned. Will the girls get uncovered?
