This book is not your ordinary book on BFF’s. The three girls on gumm street hate, no, despise each other. Cat who lives in a tree, Pru, always making up safety tips, and franny, the person with the big ideas. But then a girl moves in to #5 gumm street, the supposedly haunted house. This book is practically intertwined with the classic book, The Wizard of Oz. One difference, this is set at least two generations after Dorothy goes to oz, Cat, Pru, and Franny will have some unexpected adventures, and maby they can find Dorothy’s Silver Slippers.

This charming novel by Kate Saunders, follows the adventures of twins Oscar (also called Oz) and Lily, with twists of magic and ... chocolate? This book is overflowing with magical doings, a talking cat and rat, a mysterious unofficial man named J, J’s assistant, B62, and The evil chocolater, Isador. Isador made a immortality chocolate, and tried to recreate it, but needing all the molds, only having access to his, but is his heart actually twisted and evil, or is it just the side effects of not being sober? And if so, can a evil villain have a change of heart?

This book is the sequel to Winterhouse, not only consisting of similar elements to the first book, I believe it is almost as good. Elisabeth is back at Winterhouse, this time, for good. After reuniting with Freddy, and finding out his parents did not come that time like they said they would, Freddy shows Elizabeth his new project, a camera obscure. This book is almost a perfect repeat of the first, with a few changes. For one, all the characters are a year older, and Elizabeth is trying to train to be a librarian. Also. You know more about the background if you read the first book. I also like that a difference of the way chapter tiles are placed. First book it is word ladders and second book it is anagrams. I would recommend this book to people who like puzzles and/or liked the first book. I also recommend you read the books in order, as it makes more sense that way.

The second book in the Lemoncello series is placed a few months after the escape game winners are announced and become (unless you want a spoiler of the first book, don’t read the rest of this review if you have not read the first book) famous. A bunch of kids all over the United States get mad at Mr. Lemoncello because they wonder why they were not allowed to participate in the escape game. So mr Lemoncello decides to host a country wide library olympics! Teams are formed and the winners of the escape game will be battling the top nerds from across the country, but can they keep their fame?
