I really enjoyed reading The Maze Runner. The story was very action-packed, and reading it felt even more exciting than watching the movie. I was very engaged in the story once I started reading because the author, James Dashner, had included so much mystery throughout his story that I could not wait to find out the truth. A very entertaining part of the story I found was the unique vocabularies the Gladers invented themselves, such as “klunk” and “shank”. I thought Dashner had done a great job describing the physical and emotional feelings of the characters during different scenes since he was writing in the third–person point of view. Lots of times, the descriptions the author used made me felt like I was in the same situation as the Gladers. I especially loved the part of the story where Thomas led the Gladers successfully out of the Maze, and was rescued by people. I could not wait to read the second edition of The Maze Runner series, The Scorch Trials, and I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and family members who love reading science fiction novels.

I really enjoyed reading The Graveyard Book because it was such an amazing and thrilling story full of deep meanings. The book describes the life of a toddler named Nobody Owens that had been raised by the dead and supernatural beings in a graveyard after the murder of his entire family. Throughout the story, Bod faced personal troubles, his interactions with the living and the dead, the secrets of the graveyard, fight between good and evil, and the metaphorical search for meaning of life. As I read the book, I was constantly invited to be amazed, to fear, to smile and to laugh. The story inspired me to find my own faith and follow my rights. The author Neil Gaiman also reminded me of my own transitions in life and makes me want to love and appreciate those around me. The artworks in the book were quite nice and appropriate. It was really entertaining to read the plot of the story, where Scarlett, a girl Bod played with when they were five years old, brought him face to face with Jack ten years later, the murderer of his family. Overall, I thought The Graveyard Book was wonderful with an appreciation of all life, dead and living, and celebrates differences and likenesses.

I really enjoyed reading the book The Absolutely True Diary of a Part – Time Indian. In the novel, the main character Arnold Spirit, Junior, is traveling throughout his journey of self-discovery. It was a combination of tragedy, drawings, humor, despair, and hope that made me so engaged with reading this book. My heart was simultaneously broke into a million pieces and made me laugh as the pieces are put together over and over again. I was impressed by how the tragic events that took place in the story did not come across as a shock, but instead as natural things that happen in life. The author, Sherman Alexie, was born a Spokane Indian just like Junior, and I believe he wanted his readers to understand how Native American teens that live in reservations struggle to escape the future that was already determined for them. I was inspired by Junior’s hopes and dreams of self-discovery by the people around him, his struggles, and success, to work hard for my own dreams for them to be accomplished. After I read through the novel, I learned that I should never determine a person without getting to know them first, as Sherman had stated in his book, “If you let people into your life a little bit, they can be pretty damn amazing.”

Looking for Alaska was one of the most brilliant and fascinating books I have ever read. The story was a combination of happiness and sadness. I loved the fact that the author John Green made the tensions of the story build up on each other as I kept reading. The book started off with Miles transferring to Culver Creek Boarding School. He met a few friends, and fell in love with Alaska Young. I enjoyed that a large percentage of the book was describing the everyday life of Miles and his friends at his new school because I liked reading books that were less active and more descriptive. The death of Alaska Young in the middle of the story caught me by surprise. I thought the author did an extremely great job describing Miles and his friends' feelings as they grieved for Alaska. I also thought the pranks they played throughout the story was very creative and original, and I loved reading the reactions of the pranked victims. The ending of Looking for Alaska was very well written. John Green used the last word of Thomas Edison, which finished the story perfectly. I felt a mixture of feelings as I read this book. Sometimes I felt proud for Miles when he made accomplishments, other times I felt sad with the characters inside the story. In my opinion, Looking for Alaska was the most successful book written by John Green, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great novel.

Paper town is a very interesting story, and I would highly recommend it to my friends. I found it very interesting the way the author John Green described the town Q lived in as a paper town, and the town's people as paper people. It made me think of my own city, and I wondered if I also lived in a paper city. However, I felt the pace of the story was a little slow in the beginning, but it picked up its speed starting from the middle. I felt sad at the ending of the book because Q did not get what he wanted in the beginning. On the road trip, there were lots of humorous parts that made me laugh. Overall, Paper town left me wondering what happened to the characters and their paper world at the end of the last page.

I really enjoyed reading The Fault in Our Stars. It is a very truthful story, giving all the dull and great parts of life. It inspired me to live everyday happily since I had such better lives than the characters in the book, and yet they tried to live like every other people. I thought the author did a great job combining romance and action into the story. I was very excited when Hazel traveled to Netherlands because I really wanted to read about how the country looked like. Overall, even though it is not my favourite book, the story is very interesting.
