Stanley Yelnats has been convicted of a crime he didn't even commit. Because of this, he's been sent to Camp Green Lake, a camp that is supposed to build character and bring boys back to society. When Stanley gets there, he makes some friends and finds out that the Warden is making the boys dig holes not to build character, but to find a legendary secret treasure, that his great-great-grandfather supposedly had something to do with. Will he ever find the treasure? Will he ever get his crime justified and escape Camp Green Lake? Read Holes by Louis Sachar to find out. I connected to this book because Stanley takes the blame for things he didn't do, and I have done that before. I give this book 4 stars because the story plot was good, but the cutting back and forth to the past and present was confusing, and the resolution was predictable in some parts.

Dragonhaven is about a young boy who lives at the Institute in a national park. This particular national park had dragons in it. Jake is the boy's name, and he is finally going on his first overnight solo in the park. On this overnight peculiar things happen. Jake mostly remembers the mother dragon and the baby dragon. The baby dragon ends up with Jake. As the evening goes on the night of the solo Jake is found by Billy, a ranger. Then the real adventure starts when Jake becomes a junior ranger to hide the baby dragon. I connected this book to when I babysit because my siblings are always needing something. I rated this book four stars because well it was good it got boring when he talked about the history of the national park.

Hurricane Katrina was a devastating hurricane that hit the Gulf in 2005. It hit hard, but this was predicted. People did not believe that it would actually happen or they couldn't leave, so they were in the flooding and storm. People had to climb on their roofs because their house was flooding to the top. Rescuers couldn't come far in until the winds had died down more. People were trapped where they were until a helicopter or other rescue vehicle could get to them. I may not directly relate to the hardships people faced in that time, but my sister was born in 2005. I relate to the book through m family. I rated this book five stars because it was very interesting; it was enticing enough that you would never want to put it down.

After escaping the Village of Fowl Devotees, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire arrive at a store to send a telegram to Mr. Poe, explaining their situation and pleading for help. The store's generous owner explains that a van of 'Volunteers Fighting Diseases' arrives once every day for a gas refill. The van arrives, and the Baudelaires, thinking it to be the acronym 'V.F.D.', escape into it after the owner recognizes them as the accused murderers in the Daily Punctilio, an unreliable newspaper series. The Baudelaire orphans find themselves in a hospital. They blend in with the volunteers fighting diseases. They get a job in the records department where they hope to find information that will help them prove that they are not murderers and tell them more about the evil Count Olaf. To find out what happens next read the Hostile Hospital. I give this book 5 stars because it is by far the most interesting one out of the Series of Unfortunate Events books I've read.
