The Ersatz Elevator begins with Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire embarking on a brand new adventure. Their path has taken them this time to 667 Dark Avenue; the same city where they were born. Although happy to return to the city they loved, their uncertain future is troubling. They soon meet their new guardians, Jerome and Esme Squalor. Esme and Jerome are night and day to one another. Jerome is gentle with a kind heart. Esme is greedy, cruel and obsessed with popularity. After only a short time the children discover that Esme is definitely not the guardian that they thought their parents would assign for them. This curiosity led to the unfortunate events in this book which the Baudelaire children are faced with. In addition to worrying about their future, they worry about Count Olaf who is certainly still out to get them and will go to extraordinary measures to fulfill what he wants. The Baudelaires are questioning everything that people are telling them but are being ignored because they are children this is the way I connect to the book. Because It can be very frustrating when people are dismissing every word you say just because of your age. I give this book five stars because it is so descriptive that you can paint a clear picture of what everything looks like.

I gave this book a 4-star rating because it was a great book but not the best I've read. I connect with the book because me Lina both have younger siblings. This book is about a city that is underground and is running out of supplies for the people and their health. Two kids, Lina and Doon, want to do something about it. After trying and trying, they are about to give up. Just then, Lina finds something that may help find a way out. Is this mysterious object linked with escaping? Is what Lina thinks the truth? If so, will the people of Ember make it out in time? Read City of Ember to find out!

I gave this book a 4-star rating because it wasn't the best book I've read but definitely a good one. It is about an 11-year old girl named Ellie Cruz. One day, a strange man, comes up to her door and acts strangely like her grandfather. It turns out he is! Her 77-year old grandpa is a teenager! How did this happen? Why is he here? You'll have to read the book to find out! I connect to this book because we both had multiple fish that died, but our parents didn't tell us until later.

One day a girl named Margret was at here house. She decided to go and go see her friend. When she got to her friend's house she saw a moving truck. This book reminds me of when my friend moved away to another state. I gave this book a five stare rating because it talked about god.
