You have to get the books from your local library (if you don't have them already.) DOGObooks does not provide you with the books on the READING LIST. If you read and review three books, then you get to choose one of the books from the PRIZE LIST. The book from the PRIZE LIST is completely free! (LOL, I feel like I am advertising XDD) Anyway the books come in through the mail. Your parents have to fill out a Parent Consental Form that says it's okay for you to get a free book from DOGO News and you need to write your address for the Parental Consental Form. You can scan it and e-mail it to editor@dogonews.com and the editor will receive it. DOGObooks will mail the book to your address and you can have an awesome time spending your days with books :) (Sorry if this was long)

I AGREE! JUST BECAUSE WOMEN ARE FEMALE AND THE WEAKER GENDER DOESN'T MEAN WE SHOULD GET PAID LESS. I am a big feminist and this really makes me mad. EVERYONE should be treated equally. Whether their black of white, or a Christian or a Catholic. Whether their a male or a female. As Anne said below, THIS IS NOT THE PAST! If we keep on doing this, THIS WILL BE OUR FUTURE! Think about the riots in Baltimore. If we don't fix this your town might become like Baltimore. Next thing you know, people are gong to start a World War 3! Think about the single mothers with children. They have to care for their children without help! Getting a lower salary then males doesn't help at all. If this continues, the single mothers won't get enough money to feed her kids, and then the kids die! That's how bad this is. For the people who shrug of this article and don't care about these women, are selfish. I not normally the mean bird in the flock, but, its true. Think of all the women in Saudi Arabia and Iran, who get stoned to death every day because they won't worship the god that your supposed to. ITS OUTRAGEOUS! Males are taking over the world now that their hasn't been any female rulers recently. In other countries around the world women are not even allowed to run for ANY political office. In other countries, women are treated like dirt! Women deserve to be independent. Do what they want to do. Males shouldn't rule over women! We should stand up for what's right. Around the world their are smart women, but since the live there they aren't allowed to show their cleverness because they would get killed it they did so. These women are more then capable enough to be president, but they are DISCRIMINATED against. People laugh at us just because we are weaker in body strength. When men look at us they see women weak people on the outside. But on the inside, we are more then that. WE ARE FIGHTERS. WE ARE SURVIVORS. WE PERSERVERE THROUGH THE END UNTIL WE MAKE IT. WE. WON'T. BACK. DOWN. "THIS IS NOT THE PAST'

Anne, I assure you, I read your entire comment. Multiple times. Sexism isn't just towards women. That's what people (our society) wants us to think. But men definitely exspreince it just as much as women. it's possible that they experience it more because, sadly, sexism towards men many times isn't even recognized as sexism. I'm asking how angry men have brainwashed our society. Give me an example of something that is the result of angry men brainwashing our society. I can give you example when it comes to feminist brainwashing our society. Just look at TV these days. The majority of TV dads are portrayed as lazy, childish, or grumpy. Often all three. TV moms, on the other hand, are rarely portrayed as any of those things (unless she's a criminal or something). Our society tells girls they're perfectly fine, and should NEVER change themselves for a guy. On the other hand, it tells boys they need to bend over backwards to make sure their girlfriends are happy with ever single aspect of them. If your girlfriend doesn't like video games, stop play them. If she hates comics, stop reading them. And the reason I'm using those as examples is because I have known many women to not like both of those things. And I'm not being sexist, and saying that all women don't like video games or comic books. I'm a girl, and I love both of those things. And not to mention existence of terrible, sexist games like "Boyfriend trainer" and movies like "Zapped" and "How to build a better boy". Boy friend trainer is literally an app where you "train" your virtual boy friend by slapping him, beating him, electrocuting him, etc. That's what you call domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is regarded as a horrible crime when it's against women (which it is), but when it comes to men they have, they have an app for it. That's so utterly disgusting, that I can even find the words to describe it. And it's not just an app. In real life, male victims of domestic abuse are often not taken seriously, and are even arrested it they report the abuse. The men gets arrested for getting abused. That doesn't even make a tiny bit of sense. Then there's the movies. Zapped and How to Build a Better Boy are both Disney channel movies. That means they're aimed towards kids. Zapped is basically about a girl who gets this app on her phone that controls dogs, but then the app magically starts controlling men instead. So then she decides that it's her humble duty to "fix" all the men she comes across because she pretty much finds every single guy she meets annoying (mainly because they're all portrayed doing sexist things. But frankly not all of them are actually being annoying. Some of them are just minding their own business yet she still finds them annoying because SHE doesn't see the relevance THEIR activities. Only one guy is actually rude to her.) So then she starts taking all the guys and making them "better". Not only does this movie portray men as in an EXTEREMLY sexist way (with the exception of one, who's the love interest of course.), but it's targeted towards young children who will absorb this information into their very impressionable brains. That really disturbs me. As for How to Build a Better Boy, the title speaks for itself. It's basically goes back to what I was saying earlier. Society says that women are perfect just the way they are. But it says that men aren't. We're told that in order to have the perfect man, we have to create him. Because according to society, there is no guy that just fine the way he is, and he's always going to need work. That's not even slightly true, yet that's what we're told. I could go on and on about sexism towards men, but I actually have more points to cover. I wasn't expecting to find anything about men's rights in the definition. It's feminism. It isn't about men's rights. You said that men already have (and so do women, I say), but equality isn't just about "rights". I think you might have taken the thing I said to which you replied. "not all feminist have brainwashed our society", out of context... Also, I didn't say you that "those people are either angry men or influenced by them". That's why I asked about it. Sorry if my mistaken lack of a question mark confused you. I have then tendency of doing that sometimes :). My bottom line is that, in America, I don't think women are worse off than men. What other rights (and the reason I say other is because I've already heard you opinion on the pay gap) do we (as American women) have to fight for? I'm much more interested in fighting sexism towards men because not many people are. It seems like a lot of people tend to get work up over women's problems and ignore the fact that men have just as many problems. They need to defend themselves, and I feel the need to defend them. But again, a lot of people don't. And I think that's sad. And one more thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you basically said that the people who don't agree with you are either uninformed or misinformed. Not to be rude or anything, but no one person knows everything. I'm not even an adult, so I definitely don't know everything. Just because a person doesn't believe in something, doesn't mean they're any less informed then the person who does believe in it. It just means they have a different opinion. I'm going to keep standing up for what I believe and you'll probably keep standing up for what you believe. And that's completely fine :). Thanks for taking the time to read this (I know it was very long).

To redheadperson22, Honestly, I did do a lot of research on the matter, and I get that it is not all the time that men get paid more than women. But on general statistics, on average, yes they do. I don't agree completely because she's just basing this on the average.. but I don't know, there is a greater chance that a man walking into the store made more money that day than a woman walking in a store. Do you get what I mean? And both genders have their own virtues. We are created equally, and I think we should be paid equally (if we work at the same job). Another person said it - but 30 cents is a big deal. Look at the number of people who don't even have homes - they probably earn less than that every day. You seem very firm and resolute about your opinion, and I agree. It's right. But if you look at it one way, both are right. I never said it was WRONG to be housewives, and I certainly never thought that way. My mom is a housewife myself. I said that in the 1900s most women were molded into housewives, even some that wanted to be more independent and have other jobs. I didn't phrase it completely right, but I meant that now, at least, women have their own freedom to choose their jobs instead of men choosing it for them. There are probably only like 0.001% women that are forced into jobs by men. I'm really sorry, but I think you just read my statement wrong. Thank you (and no offense)

felicisowl, I completely get what you're saying. And I agree to some extent (I think you might have said the same thing previously, did that get deleted or something?). According to the Equal Pay Gap of 1963, it is illegal to pay someone less than another person just because of their gender. Since it is illegal, if the pay gap exists, then instead of opening stores like this, they should bring their problem to the police. There should be millions of women marching up to police stations everywhere and demanding that they're employers be thrown in jail. After all, they're supposedly breaking the law. My question is, why aren't women doing that? Why aren't feminist all over the US, raiding police stations and complaining? If the pay gap exists and everything is exactly how they're saying it is, that's exactly what should be happening. But it's not. And I seriously want to know why that is. But is the problem really women being paid less or women earning less? To be honest, I think feminist are really just trying to make it seem like women are still oppressed (in first world countries), when in reality, they aren't. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about gender equality. But I'm not all about feminism. Simply because, feminism isn't really about equality. It's about women. You could say that that's because men already have rights (and so do women, I say, at least in first world countries), but equality isn't just about "rights". Feminism is taking over our society, and the result isn't equality. It's discrimination and sexism and . Towards men. I'm definitely not saying that all feminist hate men. I'm saying that with all the emphasis all girls' and women's problems and struggles, men and boy are pretty much being left by the wayside. And I'm not saying that feminism is the direct source of that, but it's definitely helped. I'm not saying that feminism is a bad thing, in fact, it probably was a great thing back when women actually didn't have rights. But now, in 2015, feminism isn't the same as it was back then. And I'm just saying that I don't agree with it and I'd probably never consider myself a feminist. The same way I probably wouldn't join a group all that's about men and that's on the same level as feminism. I am a person who is interested in fighting for both genders when it's needed. And right now, because of the emphasis on feminism in our society, I'm really more interested in fighting for men. But that doesn't mean that women don't have problems. My point is that both men and women have problems and need help. But because I feel feminist really have a stronghold on our society; I feel the need defend men. But not a lot of people do. And think that's really sad. No offense taken :). Thank you for taking the time to read this. I know it was long :).

I agree with genius1326 - just read "Because of Winn-Dixie" by Kate Dicamillo. You'll learn that wars are horrible and should be curse words, really, in my opinion. There is this really sad story in "Because of Winn-Dixie" that goes like this: A boy wanted to go to war because his father and his brothers went to war too. He pretended to be older just so he could go to war. But he learned that war was HORRIBLE - his father and brothers died, among many people. His sisters' and his mother's house was blown up by the enemies, and he was left alone.. without any family or a home. So he walked all the way to Florida and suddenly wanted candy.. So he made a candy brand that captures sadness in it, because he was very melancholy when he made it..

felicisowl's book review was featured in Danger Is Everywhere: A Handbook for Avoiding Danger.
Before reading this life-saving book and this review, you would have never thought that DANGER IS EVERYWHERE. You just don't take the time to think that, "Oh no, I better sleep in a bathtub today so I would be safe in case there's a flood!" or, "I should wear my garlic necklaces today in case the sub turns out to be a vampire!" This book is here for that purpose - Docter Noel Zone would like to warn everywhere that the world is full of danger, and he will carefully instruct you how to avoid it in this well-crafted handbook. This is the best handbook I have seen in years - it has precise instructions, pictures to go along with the steps, and surprises that will make you jump out of your seat (why didn't you pick a safe place to sit?) and more! Here are a few things to remember before reading this book (CAUTION, CAUTION): (1) make sure you are reading this book in a secure spot (2) check under the bed or the chair for any suspicious pets that could eat you (3) slowly turn the pages until you get to page 9 (4) stomp on the book until the page 9 scorpion has been squelched (5) sit back down and try to enjoy the book without having to stop reading because it is too frightening. There is an emergency TEPOC (the emergency page of calm) in case you are in urgent need, and another warning is that there are a lot of acronyms in this book. This is because if you are in an emergency (for example: a bear is attacking you) you don't have time to say, "OH MY GOSH A BEAR IS ATTACKING ME HELP SOMEBODY MOMMMYYYYY!" because then you would already be eaten. The correct way to handle a situation like this is to dance and say, "TIABA! TIABA!" (This is a bear alert!) Reader Tip: Put a spare bookmark in the acronym page, you'll need a photographic memory to memorize them all ;) It all started one day when Docter Noel Zone was a lifeguard at a swimming pool. It was a fine day until Docter Noel Zone noticed all the danger that could happen! So he set some new rules into place and no one came to the swimming pool again, but hey, that doesn't matter if you're safe? Right? :thumbs up: Even though Docter Noel Zone's first priority is safety, he knows how to have fun! He's just a regular guy (with extreme safety concerns) with pets, favorite foods, and the whole package! Here's a way to cook toast (Docter Noel's favorite food!) safely! First, put it in the toaster and back away from it. Wait 3 hours and then carefully pry it out from the toaster, using a safety device like toilet paper wrapped around your hands. Put it on your plate and wait another 3 hours. A perfect breakfast -- oops, it's lunch already! And check out some of Docter Noel's dance moves! Here is one dedicated to his pet Dennis, who is a stone! The dance move is called, "The Stone." Instead of "The Worm," which is VERY dangerous indeed, in "The Stone," you just have one not dangerous at all step! It is: (1) lie down carefully and delicately, and stay there with your eyes open as wide as you can. (2) That's it! Docter Noel Zone also tells you how to act in real emergencies! For example, there is a PIRATE on your school bus! (Forewarning: Pirates like to dress up as crossing guards..) (1) Pretend to speak in the language of the Pirates (I already gave away too much, so I'm not telling you this one until you read the book, arrr matey!) (2) Give them a treasure map LEADING AWAY FROM THE BUS. (3) You're a hero! And note of advice, vampires like to dress up as subs (not submarines, the teachers), so watch out if they ride segways! They might be vampires! But the most dangerous vehicle of all is the.. bicycle! But Gretel from the cabbage cabin rides one.. :swoons: :cues romantic music: Ahh, Gretel.. Cabbages+Pretty Girl = True Love.. :snaps out of it: Anyway, Docter Noel Zone has removed all bicyles and dangerous equipment in his yard.. and covered it with concrete. WHY?!??!?!?!??!? That makes it more dangerous??!?!??! Sometimes you don't have common sense.. Docter. In this hilarious, imaginative, creative book, you will learn A LOT of cool stuff, like how to chase away pirates, and how to ward off vampires, and how to prepare toast properly.. on and on! You might find this stuff ironic or funny or not take it seriously, but these tips might help you later in life! There's also a DETBAFOD at the end, a little "test" to show if you can become a Dangerologist (LEVEL 1) and have a chance at beating Docter Noel Zone at the title, "Best and Only Dangerologist". So there you have it - good luck, POD (pupils of Dangerology) Grade - B+ ~FelicisOwl (Dangerologist Level 3 - printed the test three time XDDD)
