This book really makes the reader look at different perspectives of many, many different people. It makes the reader think more about Asian Hate, racism, and bullying. I highly reccomend this book to anyone looking for feel good books (maybe).

Mia is a little girl that works at here family motel she is poor that why shes working there she moved from china so now she is ingredient and I liked that she was brave and I did not like Mr.Yao.
For two or three years, Mias's family has moved from place to place and tried to get jobs. Mia's family is Chinese, and they immigrated to America a few years ago. Now, Mia's parents have gotten a new job at the Calvista Motel in California. There, her parents manage the hotel, and Mia helps run the front desk. But there's one problem: the hotel's owner, Mr.Yao, doesn't like black people and takes away money from Mia's parent's paychecks. Also, her mom says to focus on math instead of writing, which Mia prefers. What will happen next? I liked this book because it's both funny and interesting.
I think Front Desk by Kelly Yang is a great book. This book is about what its like to be an immigrant and financial problems. I liked that its a mix of good things and bad things. I found when I read it I just wanted keep reading the whole. I also really liked all of the characters. I think its a very interesting book the only bad thing was it can be sad at times.
I read this book in grade 5. Mia, the main character grows up in china and moves to The USA for a "Better life". They don't have very much money and are working way to much. They are working at a motel and the man running it is Not! nice to Mia and her family. Mia goes to her first school in the US and she makes a friend. You really need to read this book.It is an amazing book and it is sadly based after a real story. Race is a horrible thing. The story turns out good for Mia and her family.I like this book because it is different to things that I normally read which is facts and geographics. I recommend this for lots of different readers.

I think this book is pretty good. I'd recomend it, for people who like realistic fiction and people who are okay with reading about hard times and money struggles. Honestly, it wasn't my favorite, but it was a good book worth reading! :3
