The second book in the treasured Little House series, Farmer Boy is Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved story of how her husband, Almanzo, grew up as a farmer boy far from the little house where Laura lived. This edition features the classic black-and-white artwork from Garth Williams.

The nine Little House books have been cherished by generations of readers as both a unique glimpse into America’s frontier history and as heartwarming, unforgettable stories. The Little House series has captivated millions of readers with its depiction of life on the American frontier.

While Laura Ingalls grows up on the prairie, Almanzo Wilder is living on a big farm in New York State. Here Almanzo and his brother and sisters help with the summer planting and fall harvest. In winter there is wood to be chopped and great slabs of ice to be cut from the river and stored. Time for fun comes when the jolly tin peddler visits, or best of all, when the fair comes to town.

Almanzo wishes for just one thing—his very own horse—and he must prove that he is ready for such a big responsibility.

its a nice book. i like how it gives a lot of detales on Almanzo Wilder. Its a good book for those who like true story adventures

Farmer Boy is a book about Almanzo Wilder's childhood (ages 8-9 years old), and takes place in 1864, New York State. It shares adventures growing up with his family: brother-Royal, and sisters-Eliza Jane and Alice. My favourite part was when Almanzo got first place in the State Fair pumpkin competition, because he worked hard to grow the pumpkin by feeding it milk (through a candle wick).

This is a book in my favorite series! It was really funny. I couldn't put it down and I had to keep reading it. Almanzo was a kid in this book.

I thought it was quite boring. Probably because the girls were not there!

A lovely book,full of wonders.

Loved this book, it made me want to learn more about Almonzo. I really liked his character. It has some very funny episodes. This book is really amazing, a really good story, very entertaining - everything you could want from a book. A cliffhanger at the end!

I decided to read this book 'cos it is about a young boy named Almanzo and his 2 older sisters, 1 older brother, and his parents. His father is one of the most important people in Malone, a nearby city to where they live. I don't exactly remember where it comes out like this, but on one of the pages, Almanzo thinks its unfair that he has to be the youngest in his family, & he loves horses. He thinks that they are the most beautiful creatures he had ever seen. I like this book a lot, but sometimes this book makes me feel nervous about what is going to happen next. I recommend this book to EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
