I think this was an amazing book because of how well they explained his life. He was born in Illinois and had four children. He also became the 16th U.S president during the time of the civil war. He fought and fought against slavery. but he was assasinated in a theater on April 15, 1865. I connected this book to everyone that has been through and is currently in slavery because he made a difference in our world and one of us can too.

If you like to learn about history and the presidency this book is for you. It tells you about Abraham Lincoln life span. Where he was born, where he lived, and what he did. It had a lot of facts about the events that happened when he was growing up. He was born in Kentucky he moved to Indiana when he was 8 years old. He helped guide us through the civil war and abolition slavery.

I think it was a great book because it told you about his whole lifespan. It told about his whole life and gave in a lot of details on everything that happened to him. It talk about how he became famous and why he is one of the greatest presidents ever. It says how most of his family members died but he stayed strong and kept on protecting America. I connected to this book because I have always thought Abraham Lincoln was a cool president and was born in Kentucky like me and moved to Indiana when he was eight just like I did.

This book talks about Abraham Lincoln's life. He was born in the capital of Illinois, had 4 children, and was the president at the time of the civil war. He also had depression from the fact of him losing many important people in his life. I connected to this book because it reminded me of my mom, who's favorite president is Abraham Lincoln. I give this book 5 stars because it gave good information with many details, and it wasn't confusing at all.

I think this book is good if you like to learn about Abraham Lincoln. It talks about his presidency, life, and struggles. The book also talks about him trying to stop the Civil War. The war eventually stops and the country is one again. I think you should read this book if you like Abraham Lincoln.

I gave this book a 4 because Abraham Lincoln was my favorite president and he was one of the best in my opinion. The books talks about Abraham Lincoln's presidency, life , and struggles. He lived during the Civil War, and had to try to stop it. He had 4 kids one died at age 4, and he was very sad. He didn't let it stop him from doing good in life. Finally he fought in the war to serve his country.

I am an adult who wanted an overview of Abraham Lincoln's life before visiting his home in Springfield, Illinois, where he resided when he was elected U.S. President, as well as his tomb and the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Museum. Our 9-year-old son read this book and didn't put it down until finished, and then I found it to be more than a "kids book." It served as a resource beyond the overview I sought. Not only was I informed but engaged in the story of his life. (What quality basic storytelling!) It was also well-balanced, not trying to paint this great historic president as a a two-dimensional hero but detailing even his struggles both as an individual person and a politician who -- given the Civil War -- obviously wasn't popular with everyone. I asked my husband to also read the book, and he felt the same way. We both learned new facts about and gained new insights into Lincoln's life! I recommend this book for anyone at its reading level and BEYOND -- to parents and grandparents alike. It's nice for adults to have a very "easy read" that can be enriching!
