The Julian Chapter: A Wonder Story (Kindle Single)

Over 5 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller Wonder—the book that inspired the Choose Kind movement—and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

From the very first day Auggie and Julian met in the pages of R. J. Palacio's life-changing book Wonder, it was clear they were never going to be friends, with Julian treating Auggie like he had the plague. And while Wonder told Auggie's story through six different viewpoints, Julian's perspective was never shared. Readers could only guess what he was thinking.

Until now. The Julian Chapter will finally reveal the bully's side of the story. Why is Julian so unkind to Auggie? And does he have a chance for redemption?

This book is about a kid named Julian Albans who is mean to a kid with a facial difference named August (known as Auggie) Pullman. In this story, you learn Julian's side to understand why he is mean.

I think it was good that R.J. Palacio wrote this book because it would show us what Julian was thinking and let us understand what he was going through rather then making us readers angry at him for bullying Auggie. I still am angry at Julian, but since I now know why he did what he did and I know he had his reasons, I am less angry at him. I still think he overreacted though.

If you've read Wonder you have to read The Julian Chapter. R.j. Palacio's The Julian Chapter picks up where Wonder left off. It answers some of the question I was left with . Finally I got to learn Julian's side of the story. Julian is both the antagonist and the protagonist in this story because he fights with himself whether to say sorry to Auggie. Julian learns that his parents were forcing him to change schools. He spends the summer in France with his grandmother. While he was in France he learns from his grandmother were his name came from. As he learns about his name Julian changes. When he goes back to the U.S. he knows he has to do something important. Will Julian do the right thing? I liked this book because I got to learn more about Julian.

I never knew this is how Julian's parents treated August and Jack! I don't agree with them. They shouldn't say that Jack deserves to be expelled. Also, I think what they did by removing Auggie from the class picture was wrong. It could hurt his feelings.
