Read the cult-favorite coming of age story that takes a sometimes heartbreaking, often hysterical, and always honest look at high school in all its glory. Now a major motion picture starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a funny, touching, and haunting modern classic.

The critically acclaimed debut novel from Stephen Chbosky, Perks follows observant “wallflower” Charlie as he charts a course through the strange world between adolescence and adulthood. First dates, family drama, and new friends. Sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Devastating loss, young love, and life on the fringes. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie must learn to navigate those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.

A #1 New York Times best seller for more than a year, an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults (2000) and Best Book for Reluctant Readers (2000), and with millions of copies in print, this novel for teen readers (or “wallflowers” of more-advanced age) will make you laugh, cry, and perhaps feel nostalgic for those moments when you, too, tiptoed onto the dance floor of life.

ATTENTION! This book is amazing! Charlie is a very realistic and great character. He is like any other teenager in the real world. Facing everything like drugs, depression, and much more. This book will have a great effect on you. It will make you cry, laugh, and feel the wonders of being a teenager. Although some situations are mature, that's why I say recommended for teens and young adults. The situations are very realistic and amazing to read. The book was very well written, and a real page turner. From just reading the first page it will leave you wanting more. I finished the book within two days because I was so into it! So everyone, go read it! :)

This is a really interesting book that gives you a unique perspective on what it's like to be in high school. All the characters were believable. I would recommend everyone to read this book!

This book has a lot of unexpected twists and turns. It's a very good book though.I recommend it to people who liked "The fault in our stars".

My own children loved this book--so I am going to read it this Summer!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is a great book about the transition from middle school to high school. 15 year-old Charlie is devastated when his best friend Michael dies. Michael was one of his only friends, and now that he's gone Charlie feels like an outsider. To and onto that Charlie's older brother has just left for college. He soon enough becomes friends with step siblings Partrick and Sam, both of who are seniors. This is a very good book, one that I would recommend to older kids. Though the ending is very confusing the entire book is really good so it makes up for the ending. The book is becoming a new movie out in September starring Logan Lerman as Charlie and Emma Watson as Sam.

This book was amazing! I wish the main character, Charlie, were real so he could be my best friend ever! This book brought up a bunch of real life subjects that, at times, were hard to take. It's the heart-breaking tale of growing up and learning how to get by.
