Pretty Little Liars meets The Breakfast Club” (EW.com) in this “flat-out addictive” (RT Book Reviews) story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive.

Pay close attention and you might solve this.
On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.

Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention Simon's dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who’s still on the loose?

Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.

I liked this book, but it definitely had some content. I liked Bronwyn, and I think that the author did an amazing job with the mystery of this book. You will never guess who really killed Simon, but at the end it seems so obvious.

The description is absolutely correct. It's addicting. Amazing plot with incredibly realistic characters. It's an extremely honest reflection of the dark reality that we're living in. I loved every twist and turn of it. Amazing book!! Read it and its sequel! 😘

If you like mystery/murder books this is for you! This book is about 4 students who go to detention for the same thing that they all did not do. They think that someone planned it because the other student that was in detention died. He drank water and died....how??? U may ask. He had. A peanut allergy and there was peanut oil in his cup! Did he do it or did someone else? Read the book to find out!

The Bayview four, a story in which 5 students walk in detention and only 4 walkout. The brains, jock, the classic bad boy, the loner, and the popular. They were all around the news attempting to sort out how the fifth individual was killed. Secrets were being shared, friendships were being broken. With the stars crossing, betrayment lies in the middle of them. The individual who was helping behind the homicide was directly before them. I recommend this book to someone who loves romance, mystery, and spine chillers.

So far it is really good. I enjoy how it is written from different perspectives and I enjoy the characters' personalities. So far I have no idea who committed the crime but i hope to find out. I would definitely suggest reading it if you're into murder mysteries or just mystery stories in general.

I want to read this book!! ekkkk is sounds really interesting!! Do ya'll recommend it?!

I loved the book but towards the ending it became quite dry. I mean it kind of ended weirdly because I expected some crazy twist but the ending was quite safe. I read the first four chapters in 2hrs and it was so intriguing I wanted to read more. The book is aimed at teens like me but I think it depends on mature you are not how old. So a 10 year old could definitely read it.

This book was impressive it kept me interested even though murder mystery isn't my favorite genere. I liked how each chapter is in the propsective of each charactor whitch really helps me relate to the charactors and how their feeling. I know most people like having only one charactor prospective but sometimes having many prospective can lead to more info and the more you can connect with the charactor. I would give this book 5 star any day because it was one of the best novel I read.

Karen M. McManus’ novel, One Of Us Is Lying follows the lives of five of Bayview High School’s students- Bronwyn: smart, factual, studious, and headed for Yale, Cooper: athletic, charming, confident, and the star player on Bayview’s baseball team, Addy: pampered, popular, sophisticated and one of the most envied girls at Bayview High, Nate: the highschool hoodlum, notorious drug dealer, and Juvenile Delinquent, and finally, Simon: the self-proclaimed omniscient narrator and the infamous creator of Bayview High’s gossip app About That. When they all end up in detention after school, only four of the five leave the room alive. Simon is dead- and Bronwyn, Cooper, Addy, & Nate are now prime suspects in Simon’s murder- and just before Simon was going to release a juicy About That update on every person in that room. With a rousing plotline full of twists and turns, One Of Us Is Lying is eloquently written, and an over-all brilliant book! I enjoyed the authentic characters and intrigue and would recommend it for middle school readers and up! Definitely one of the best Mystery/Suspense YA novels I’ve read in a while!
